Mix JBCO with MTG???

Okay Ladies,

I received all of my products that I ordered and washed my hair tonight. Now I'm sitting here with wet hair not knowing where to start:spinning: I purchased JBCO, Megatek and Lavender Oil. I plan on letting my hair air dry and possibly flat ironing in the a.m. My hair is neck length so I don't have the option of bunning. Please forgive me in advance for these questions and if someone has already posted something similar.

1) Do I mix the JBCO with the Megatek? If so, I did buy an applicator bottle, just need to know how to mix it? Is it half & half with a few drops of lavendar?
2) I also purchased QP Mango and Olive Oil, I believe this is supposed to be part of my moisturizing system.
3) Can I apply all these products to wet hair?

HELP!!!!!!!! All advice is welcome!!!! I don't discriminate.

I must say that my hair feels great, so thanks to those who recommended the Aphogee treatment, I think that's going to be a great part of my regimen.

Bumping for you...it's better to put part of the subject of your post in the title, or else people won't click on it and read the thread.

I only use QP Mango Butter on dry hair for moisturizing. The only time I use it on wet hair is to slick back a wet bun. I don't use those other products. I mean, I used to use Olive Oil to seal, but now I just use products with Olive Oil in them.

I mix my megatek, jbco, olive oil and coconut oil in an applicator bottle and apply it to dry hair (prefferably airdried), bun and then sport my phony pony. I suppose that it has the same effect on wet hair too. The only thing is that if you flatiron in the morning the oils and the megatek will weigh your hair down.

I would say to put a small amount of your mix on your SCALP like you're greasing your head and then take a dime or nickel sized about and lightly brush it through your hair. so tomorrow when you go to flat iron, you'll hardly have any grease except on your head. and your scalp should soak some of that up when you're air drying.

Thanks for the response! I wasn't sure so I decided to just use the jbco until I received some feedback. I'll mix the two tomorrow. Are phony ponies damaging to the hair? I wore one for the last two weeks and I wasn't sure if the combs did damage. If not, I'm going to add more to my supply. With my hair being neck length, barely able to put it in a pony tail, then phony ponies are my best option.

Mega-tek is a protein. So proceed with caution. Start off slow. Don't use it everyday. Maybe every two-three days. Since it is a protein you need to up your moisturizing DCs. Make sure the product you are using doesn't have protein in it.

What does the lavender oil do?

I would mix the JBCO and MT. I mix my MT with some other kind of oil -- whatever is near me, really. You can apply it to your scalp, and continue doing this every three days or so. You can also DC with MT, but make sure to follow up with a moisturizing DC. (Personally, I just add a squirt of MT to my moisturizing DC.)

How often are you using heat? I think the phony ponies may be a good idea, because then you can have a no-heat regimen for a while: wash, DC, let your hair partially airdry, then slick it into a ponytail or small bun, baggy (optional) and cover it with your ponytail.

And don't go crazy buying hair stuff! You will be in the "no-buy" challenges really fast if you keep that up....trust me. LOL

I used a phony pony to get my hair past shoulder-length. I baggied my hair underneath (put a plastic bag around my damp, moisturized pony to keep the ends moisturized). It was a human-hair Milky Way drawstring pony.

Those comb that comes attached to the pony can cause breakage when inserted to the same area of your hair every day. I cut little holes for bobby pins instead of using the comb every day. The draw string also helped to keep it pretty secure. I like Hollywood Beauty bobby pins because they seem to glide in smoothly and the plastic tips don't come off the long bobby pins.

I also took the ponytail off at home and walked around and slept in just the baggy. I alternated phony ponies, roller sets, and pinned updos...I also had a fake bun, but it was synthetic and looked too shiny and fake. My pony blended perfectly with my hair. Sometimes I even pinned the pony up like a bun! Great protective style.

I got the lavender oil because I was reading that the MT smelled horrible so I thought it would help the smell.

Thanks for the advice on mixing the JBCO and MT. I really appreciate it because I was getting ready to put the mixture on EVERY day, lol....Did I say I was a newbie.....

Last night I partially air dryed, used the JBCO and put my satin bonnet on. I got up this a.m. to flat iron and did a couple of rows and was not pleased. I felt like I was frying my hair. So I did the phony pony thing this a.m. and will continue to do so.

You are too late with the "go crazy" advice, lol.....I got so much stuff my head was spinning. I even had a dream about the products that I bought and in the dream I was totally confused, lol...... I pledge to NOT buy another product for .......days/months, lol I will get some phony ponies this week. I have one and it's kinda on it's last leg.

Thanks again!!!!!!

That is some GREAT advice!!!!! I do plan to roller set but I waited too late yesterday to wash and set. I really like the fake buns but won't purchase if it doesn't blend. They look great for the office.

If your going to flat iron I wouldn't put anything in my hair or scalp. My best flat iron jobs come out best on hair with no to minimal products.

I got to shoulder length with my phony ponies, but I use regular weft hair and wrapped it around my bun (sometimes wet buns). I also used a homemade half wig for a protective style too, I made a video of it YouTube - homemade half wig. I change my protective styles often to prevent breakage in one area. Right now I have inbetween tracks and plan on using my MT/oil mix on my scalp. Good luck with your progress!

Thank you so much. You just reminded me of what my friend and I used to do (use regular weft hair). I'm going to check out your youtube link.

Thanks!!!

At first, i thought they were fine. but after wearing them for 3 monthes (a year ago) the top part of my crown is thinner now and it hasn't grown back. so dont do it!!!!
