Does anyone know the best curling iron or flat iron that would achieve that "salon press?" You know, the kind of press that leaves your hair so straight and smooth?

TIA

My guess would be the marcells. I've tired to duplicate it with an electric curlin iron, and they just dont get hot enough. HTH

I have the marcels at home. I used to use the marcel flat iron before I discovered ceramic flat irons. I think you can get great results with the ceramic flat iron. I use a Unil. It's the same one I used to get my hair straight in my avatar pic.

Aren't the ceramic irons better for the hair? Where do you buy them? Are the eletctric or can you use them on the stove?

Ceramics are electric and yes, they are better for your hair than regular electric irons. You can get them online or from salons/stores like Ulta or Trade Secret. Sally's also sells them.

They don't have any irons you can use on the stove? Where is ulta or trade secret. Is that online? I'm asking because my mom used MY name to post about her hair like I was talking. I deleted the post because she didn't make no sense. But I still want her to find out how to keep her hair healthy.

Okay, the irons that go/in the stove are the marcels. Ceramics are plug ins/electric. Ulta and Trade Secret are stores that you can usually find around or in a mall. Where do you live?

I'm sorry. I just read that you live in LB. Well, is there a Sallys around you? They sell mid range ceramics, but what are you really looking for, a ceramic or a marcel?

There is one you can buy at your local BSS. I have one at home. It gets really hot. It looks like this:

I tried using it but I kept burming myself. It's easier to use on other people. I use it on my gas stove and it gets the hair really straight and it can get really hot to so you have to be careful.
