Did you cut off all your hair?
Are you now liberated by your new short hair cut? Did it shave hours off of your life? Was it a weight lifted? Did you finally take out your weave and go all natural? Do you now have more money in the bank? Are you no longer obsessed with your looks? Were your friends and family shocked?
If cutting off your hair has totally changed your life, then we want to hear from you. Tell us your hair story and send before and after pics. Please only reply if you are comfortable with sharing your story on TV.

I know Tyra has a show coming up where she's celebrating her made up holiday, National Real Hair Day. That show will air Sept. 8th.
 
God, I friggin :heart2: oprah. You just KNOW she'll address this topic the right way and give it the respect and publicity it deserves. I'm so happy to see her dedicate a show to the BCer's yall deserve it:yep:.
 
I would also like to see some of our "former BCers" on there - with their pictures - of when they BC'd and how long their hair is now, a year or two later. That would demonstrate to people that BCing isn't permanent and hair does and will grow back.
 
Halle movie, do tell?

I am glad this is finally getting major media attention. I hope there are a lot of women of color who are shown. If you notice she did not mention a specific type of woman.

No offense or disrespect to any other culture, but it would be good to have a nice contingent of ladies of color up close and personal sharing their experience.
 
Halle's been working on a movie for years and its called Nappily Ever After:grin:. Yea I'll be the first person in the theater for that one, trust:yep:
 
This is excellent! This could be so inspiring for women who want to grow out their hair after the BC! We should have a lot of takers on this one!

I am going to apply. I have tons of before and after pictures and can add a little bit of controversy as I wore wigs for a month and a half until I 'learned to accept myself' :rolleyes: I can probably talk my friends into saying how they really felt when I bc'd :lachen:

I don't watch Oprah but I will make sure I see this one.

I read Nappily Ever After a few years ago.
 
shoot...I'll BC now instead of transitioning if it means I get to be on Oprah! I'm going to send in an old pic of me in a twa and see what happens!
 
i would bc to a twa again if it was a guarantee i'd be on oprah. although i'd probably be the ugly one since i can't wear makeup. =[​
 
I'm goin on 5 years into my natural journey but if Oprah wanted to BC my hair personally.......I think I'd do it.

As attached to long thick coils as I am I'd start over to be a part of that and meet one of my biggest Heroes:infatuated: plus I LOVE the message!!:yep:
