Review:

This stuff is excellent!! I left it on for 10 minutes with my shower cap on and the tangles just dropped right out!! A lot of slip and a lot of moisture!! Finally. something I can use everyday for both both my conditioning washes and as a leave-in.

Looks like this will be my first staple to add to my new "natural hair" regime.

There are so many raves about Pantene and it's slip (and I know b/c I used to use Smooth and Sleek for years!). But, I began to hear bad things about Pantene that it just coated hair. I wonder if other people have had effects of dryness after using it for a while? I felt like that happened to me. But I may have to go back to Pantene for conditioner washes b/c it IS cheap (well, cheaper than salon brands!) Anyhow, thanks for the tip. I'm curious about this hydrating curls product!

hairlove, thanks for brining up the coating thing... a lot of drugstore conditioners provide only surface conditioning (St. Ives, Clairol, Vive products). It makes me wonder which conditioners really penetrate.. only the condits labelled "deep penetrating" or what??

I like pantene BTW and use it to chase all my protein condits, it provides me with lots of slip as well.

hairlove and beana3- It all goes back to the cone thing and what works best for u. I think any product will cause build up and eventually just coat your hair, but if u clarify once a while then it isn't a problem. I also think it's important to switch up on conditioners from time to time to get the maximum benefit.

For my particular situation, I find that I have to condition every day because 1) it's hot, 2) I want my short hair to grow and 3) it controls my thick unruly hair and gives my hair good definition. If I didn't, my hair would look like a bush!!!

So far the Pantene has given me the best slip as far as a non deep conditioner goes.

Beautiful son!! Girl, I hope I'm as blessed as u when I have children!!

hairlove, yes I found that the Pantene Hydrating Curls coated my hair and I needed to find something else to remove the heavy buildup. My hair felt dry at the end of the week but once I washed it with the Dr. Bronners Soap then followed up with the GPB my hair was very soft and moisturised again.

CK, a friend raves about this conditioner. She's natural with small tight coily strands. After wearing her hair straighten for a bit, she always go back to the "Hydrating Curls" to revive her curly look. She has a shake & go routine & this product is awesome at defining her curls. Mmmmman, i can not wait to have a head full of natural hair
