i noticed this a lot lately on different boards. there are posters who review the most expensive hair products but for some strange reason their hair hasnt grown past ear length. If they are doing all this stuff with their hair i would expect it to progress in 2 years or even a couple months.

Why review a product and lie to people? especially when there are thousands of lurkers who want to start a healthy hair regimen or are looking for help with their problems.

if your hair hasn't touched your shoulders in 4 years, you should not be reviewing anything.

Messy but I agree 100%.

Just because a person only has two strands of hair upon their heads does not mean that those strands do not know a good product when they feel it and perhaps they want everyone to know how those two strands danced and blew in the wind because the product worked.

From my personal experience,

I review many products, usually when I first use it, I noticed that it worked for a short time and I was excited and posted the results. Just like when you get a new car, in the first month or year, yes, it works and you don't have problems.
The problem comes after several years worth of use, do people stay on the bandwagon or do they fall off. You have to filter every review based on length of use and if the results are consistent.

--> back to me: I reviewed many things and been on many bandwagon. I got great results at first then I either fell off because the results changed or I got tired of it. Also, I realized after being on so many bandwagons that some of the problem was an internal problem not an external problem. No matter the water type, no matter the strength or type of relaxer....I was anemic and needed to be very careful and take better care of myself (internally).

So, I would not say they are lying. I would say they told the truth at that time. I always ask/send PM to people who have a glowing review do they still feel the same way about that product. Things change, our body changes, our body chemistry changes.

If they are reviewing the detangling, moisturizing or strenghtening effects of a product, those things have nothing to do with growth/ length. You can use the best products but If you're not doing other things like proctecting your ends, using products correctly/consistently, treating your hair gently, minimizing direct heat/chemical exposure, scissor happy etc, it will affect your retention. I think it's been well established on this board now that products alone do not yeild length, so I see nothing wrong with it. Let the people do what they want. That's all I wanted to say, carry on...

I'm so glad its Sunday

My only issue with people reviewing products is that they'll tell you how great a product is but won't have any pictures to back it up. How do you start a thread ta lking about how a product gave you bootylength hair with so much shine that its blang blinging like lil waynes grill and you don't have any pics???
