My ends are always poofed. If I grab a section of my hair and go down towards my ends my hair is fine and then boom my ends are puffy. I did the loc method last night even though im lo po bc i was desperate and when i took my hair out the chunky twists they were still poofy. The ONLY thing that has helped so far is the kimmaytube leave in BUT if i remember correctly buying all four ingredients was like 50 bucks and im a poor college student. Is there anything else that compares? Roux porosity control did nothing to my hair FYI

My ends were rough and I started spraying S-curl on them. It was important to spray a non-glycerin moisturizing spray on top of the S-curl too. After doing this for 1-2 weeks, my ends are a lot better.

Your puffy ends could be just from technique. If the weather is humid or I didn't style my hair right, the ends will be puffy no matter what product I use or how recently I trimmed.

Are you wearing a natural style or a straight style?

Im wearing a natural style. My ends are straight. They do not curl on their own in the rare occurence of them not being poofy. Do you know what PH the kimmaytube leave in was?

It very well could be the climate or technique that's getting you.

I'm not sure about the kimmaytube leave in though

Have you tried a pomade on the last inch or two of your ends after moisturizing? How about a dab of moisturizer, gel, oil, or pomade, and set your ends on perm rods?

When was your last trim? What are your products, technique and regimen? I do 1/4 of inch 4 times a year (that's only an inch) otherwise I end up cutting 4-5 inches in a years time. I know when I need a trim because my hair is slightly harder to detangle, my shed hair forms small knots and entangles with my natural hair at the ends, and my ends feel slightly drier. Poofiness could be a technique, dryness, or porosity issue but if you haven't had a trim I suggest you do so ASAP and if its been more than 3-4 months take off an inch. Then in another 3-4 months take off 1/4 to 1/2 inch depending on how your hair feels and reacts to the last trim.

My ends used to be poofy but I'm not sure why. I'd notice it when I would twist my hair. I tried moisturizing and oils it stayed the same. Eventually a series of small trims fixed the problem.

I would first clarify or chelate.
Then use ph balanced shampoo and conditioner like luv naturals or joico, deep condition. Then use a ph balanced leave-in and seal with an oil or butter.
That's what seems to really help my hair and ends. Hth

I use the LOC method. I use a leave in, EVOO, and then shea butter with grape seed and essential oil. It didnt help. I blow dried my hair and the ends were HORRIBLE. My thing is, this is happened to me before when i was natural years ago and i used the kimmaytube leave in and my ends felt AMAZING after all that cutting. *deep sigh* I may just have to buy the ingredients:ohwell:

I JUST trimmed. I put my hair into chunky twists and cut off the ends. Now my ends are STILL rough and my hair is uneven lol. I just moved so i have to find a new person i trust to clip my ends without giving me a full freaking hair cut. yeah the ends form small knots. i cut my relaxed ends off in october of 2014 so i didnt my ends would be that bad
