I recently bought a Belson gh5100 and 2 pressing combs via ebay.

My question is: Are the combs supposed to lie flat when I put them in the unit? They rest on the tip and handle on the metal part but part of the comb doesn't touch the oven. Is this normal?
I have this same issue. I just put the handles under the metal rest so the lie flat. I am going to attempt to pull off the stand. These ovens were made with Marcel irons in mind. You know how their handles are on the marcels, the stand allows them to lie in there flat.

yeah, that makes sense. I just don't want to use the stove (scurred to burn all my hair off, lol)

They have testers, but I just use Kleenex to test how hot. Those ceramic heaters get super hot too. Be careful and watch your timing and use a Kleenex just to be safe.
