Okay I have this half used jar of Healthy Ends, I havent used in a little well... I pop it open today to maybe use when flatiron, and it DOESNT HAVE THE ORIGINAL SMELL... it has this stale type smell, anyone else experience this...

Anyone know why... ?

every time i've tried their hair creams in the past, they always smelt like fish. with a nice layer of synthetic fragrance to try and hide it.

I haven't noticed the smell but I did notice that over time, the oil begins to sparate from the rest of the cream. I'm not sure the healthy ends did much to protect my hair but it didn't hurt it either.

Ya know what? I recently bought a new container of Healthy Ends. I think it was a bad batch or had been on the shelf for too long. It was hard and pasty and not as smooth as it usually is.

The Soybean oil in Profective goes rank/spoils relatively quickly when left on the shelf. So I try to open it and smell before you buy it. The only one that I had that smelt like fish was Profective mega growth and it was an old batch.

Also be carfeul they are changing the formula. My hair was hard and breaking because they changed the formula on my MegaGrowth and adding more protein. Now I am using the break free and megagrowth together.

I use profective mega growth, but only on my ends. It keeps them protected.
I have yet to get a bad batch from the store. I have noticed though after about
a month and a half it does start to thicken up. What made them change the formula?

Ok, stop. You took the words right out of my mouth. I have two brand new unopened tubs of break free that I've had for a few months now. I used to use that stuff for my new growth as it made it more manageable, but the fishy smell :burn: put me off. I thought it was just me that smelled that.

Yes, I've noticed how stink the Profectiv products are. I gave away a bottle of long and healthy because I just couldn't stand it anymore. I use breakfree, and the smell was something that I had to get used to. They changed the fragrance recently, and it's a little better. I stick with it because the benefits outweigh the smell (just have to wash more frequently).
