Hello-

In the September 2007 edition of Marie Claire, Rachel Roy has a page (page 123) of items she must have. She is the wife of Damon Dash.

She uses Nivea Body Creme on her hair. Rachel said,"I bypass hair products altogether--they are just too drying--and use this rich body cream to tame my locks."

Anyone use body creme on their hair? What are the results?

Hey!
Newbie here. My mom used to use Nivea on my hair when i was younger too. We figured if it can moisturize the skin and leave a nice sheen then why not try it on my scalp. Stopped using it when they changed the formula/consistency..I think it was the Nivea Enriched lotion and was about $6 a bottle.

That's kinda cool, I like when girls do unusual stuff like that. I remember a celebrity said she used La Mer face creme in her hair.

In general using a skin cream is probably a good idea in an emergency, i.e. you've run out of your normal hair product. I would think that most skin care lotions aren't rich enough to use for hair on a regular basis though.

I'm not sure which is which, is the creme the one in the tin thing? That is the one I was talking about.

The one that Rachel uses is in a round container (not sure if it's tin). But it's round and navy with white letters that say Nivea Creme Net Wt. 6.5oz.

The first thing that came to mind is "eww" but I use horse product on my hair so who am I to talk.

I don't find it that strange that she uses Nivea on her hair.

Several of my friends use lotion on their hair instead of a moisturizer.

Jergen's Original
Johnson & Johnson Baby Lotion and Creamy Baby Oil

Their hair always has a sheen to it. Never greasy/shiny, but a nice sheen. It seems to hold up well to humidity as well.:yep:

I guess when you compare the ingredients in hair moisturizer/lotion with skin lotion, there really isn't all that much difference. The skin lotion/creme might actually have more humectants in it.
