Raven's hair (don't know if this has been posted)

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but here are pics of Raven's hari. For some reason, I was hoping her hair would be fuller and longer. Still looks nice though.

I recently cut my hair off again. I had another bad weave for a show. I cut it off, but it’s super cute... it’s old school JT length again. And I don’t have a problem with it.

Sorry, but I didn't read the interview so that's why I thought her hair was longer. Didn't know she recently cut her hair.

I'm not a fan of that look on her, I prefer the weave better. But I would have thought after wearing weaves for so long that her hair would look better than that.

Um, I think her hair looks healthy and nice. Not everyone wants long hair. Short hair can be healthy too. I think she prefers her hair to be short...which is why she cut it.

She also explained in her interview why she wore weaves (industry standard). Look at all the women who get roles (minus Halle) Unless they are in a black film they typically wear weaves. I know that Aayliha stated that she wore weaves to protect her length. I would think a lot of black hollywood wear sometype of weave...think of all the "things" their hair has to go through it.

After seeing her with weaves for so long, seeing these pics for the first time is rather shocking. Much like when Solange cut off her hair. It didn't look bad, just....shocking.

I think she is beautiful here. Change takes getting used to and honestly there is little difference between her hair and many of the members hair on here.... she looks like she lost some weight, her face looks thinner and maybe with that weight maybe she decided to bc and start a new in her transition into becomming a woman, you never know, maybe this time next year we will all be raving about Ravens big, bountiful, luscious curls. IMO

I love Raven and she is beautiful inside and out. I am glad that she is rocking her natural hair for the world to see. I'm so glad that she is not afraid to show her real natural hair the way that it grows out of her scalp, not every celebrity or black woman can say this. You go Ray!

I kinda find this hard to believe, as she has always mostly worn weave for her public appearances, and wasnt she on GoodHair talking about how much she loves weave, and how much she spends on her oh so precious weaves??
I think only recently has she begun to embrace anything that is a non-weave.

eta I skimmed the interview and assumed she had BCed before these pics to go natural, didn't realise she had cut it again from a bad weave incident. I remember her love of weaves from Good hair, if they broke off my hair though, I'd have to stop wearing weaves but that's just me I guess

I like it. Her natural hair makes her look younger to me. She always looked like an older woman with the weaves.

If I were in the industry I would have a weave too. If its okay as a protective style here its okay as a protective style for famous people. Imagine going on mutiple events daily and the stylists at each of them want to curl, flat iron, blowdry, etc your hair. You can be natural and weaveless all you want but if you dont have any hair left it doesnt matter.

I agree. Although I do not like weaves anymore myself and would not want to help spread that mindset that black women need a weave to be beautiful and to work in hollywood, if it came down to keeping my hair healthy, and getting a paycheck, yeah.....we gotta do what we gotta do. I can rock my natural hair off camera all day everyday.

However, I love that tempestt Bledsoe is au naturale on Clean House . That sista is working that hair.
