I'm curious. I need to post pictures, but everytime I try the ends of my hair flips up. Is this becuase I rollerset. Should I be wet wrapping my hair ( does anyone even do that anymore)? Any comments would be appreciated.

You can try adding castor oil to your ends when you roller set so it will keep together and it will moisturize and seal your ends HTH:yep:

You too....I thought I was alone. I tried wrapping my hair in the other direction, but it still flips up on the oppposite side.:wallbash:

I love the body that rollersetting provides, but I am also thinking about revisiting wet wrapping. A couple of times when I was lazy, I rollerset the top of my head and wrapped the remaining...came out nice. Maybe I can start with this technique.

Bumpity, bump!!!!

I am having this Betty Boop flip problem myself. I think I may go back to the old school doobie wrap too and see what happens.

I wet warp often becuase I can not do good roller sets. My hair comes out bouncy and full of body. I use the B&B foam wrap lotion mixed with Razac leave in conditioner. I also apply Claudie's satin moisturizer and aloe vera oil to my hair before I saturate with the Wrap lotion/leave in conditioner combo. I wear my hair pin up because I am transitioning so it lays my front flat and allows body to do a nice pin up.

Do you guys see any breakage with wet wrapping? I keep getting images if hair coming out in clumps with all that manipulation. Does it thin out your ends like dry wrapping?

I just wet wrap once a week and I do not wrap my hair anymore. People like to say it is more manipulation than rollersetting. I just take my time detangle it well and I still use the wide tooth comb to wrap my hair. I never comb my hair with a fine tooth comb. This may make your wrap slicker and smoother, but I never do it. A matter of fact I loose more hair roller setting.

I think either way is good. I think if you do the MacheriaAmour way of wrapping (wrapping your hair section by section) I think it should be fine. Take a section, maybe spray it so that it's soaking wet, wrap it around, take next section and do the same all the way around your head and then smooth it all out, secure it and get under the drier- I don't see where you can go wrong with that. I used to be the wrap queen back in the day, and I got lots of growth from it too. One thing I can say though, wraps look VERY flat or limp. That's the only difference between that and a wrap after rollersetting, you have that body and bounce with rollersetting. HTH

Hmmm.

I'm sitting under the dryer now (deep conditioning) and was wondering on the way home if I should rollerset or wet-wrap my hair tonight. I honestly have not had a wet wrap in over 5 years (if not longer).

Maybe I'll try it tonight.

Thank all you guys for your comments. Only reason I asked is because I need to take a picture for my post and the ends keep flipping up. It's a pain. Mind you, the last time I did a wet wrap was about 15 years ago. lol.
