Hello Ladies,

I am trying to find a style for the cooler weather without using direct heat. I am nine months post relax, currently transitioning to natural. Are there any ladies who are currently transitioning that rollerset? Any tips, and how does your NG turn out?

Hi there, I am transitioning (6 months post) and have been experimenting with different styles. I tried a rollerset with perm rods and I really liked it.

The newgrowth was pretty stretch out until the humidity came along and they went poof!

To stretch the newgrowth out you can apply tension while rolling the hair and roll at any degree over 90. This lets you get enough tension to help smooth out the roots a little more.

Shea butter has become my best friend for softening up my natural hair.

I did a video on the perm rod rollset.

Thanks! Do you use the 100% African Shea butter? Right now I am using Cantu shea butter. trying to see how my hair responds to that

Your hair came out really cute. Here we call them rods.

I tried it but the difference between my roots and ends were really apparent (~9.5 months post)
I made a "puff" out of it but it was still really obvious
