Has anyone tried this? What were your results like? I am looking for something that will help define my curls, and had heard raves for Salon Selectives Loosely Defined, but now that the company doesn't make it anymore, does Controlled Substance offer curl definition without crunch?

I used it for slicking hair down and it works really well for that. I'm sure it's good for defining curls too because it doesn't dry crunchy. The jar is kind of small though...

(I've also seen people say they found SSLD at Big Lots)

Yep I use it for slicking down the front of my hair for puffs- gives me nice shiny smooth waves. It's more of a pomade while the SSLD is a styling lotion. I've also seen the SSLD in Big Lots.

I think Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk would be more comparable to the SSLD and I've heard of people having good results with it. Neither one did much for my hair I'm afraid.

I bought some Controlled Substance today. Haven't used it yet, but I'll post my results, whatever they are.
