Share coloring tips with me please

I'm thinking of dying my hair black....what advice and tips can you all offer me?

I love the jet black color Henna + Indigo gave me. It was very time consuming, but worth it since it was an all natural product with additional hair benefits [i.e. strengthening, conditioning hair, shine, looser curls, etc.].

I also used Textures & Tones' natural black (come out jet black) dye before I heard of Henna. It had no ammonia or peroxide. It was pretty good. Not that drying or breakage from it.

I used Bigen Oriental Black a few weeks ago, and am really happy with the results. I haven't noticed a dry/itchy scalp like the last time that I used it. If you want really dark black hair, it's a good product to use.

did it make your hair dry? do you find you have to up your moisturizing?

Henna & Indigo packs (1 of each), they can be found at your local Indian grocer or order from online. I order mine (both Henna and Indigo) from Henna Sooq or you can try Mehandi. Everything else you may need you pretty much will already have [water, oils, conditioner, bowls, etc.].

You can add oils or conditioner to your mix, since Henna tends to be drying.

Oh yea, if you order your Henna online, it comes with a set of instructions too. So you'll do fine

I'm not for sure how long it last since this was the first time I've use Henna + Indigo but they say it's a permanent dye. Still I think all permanent dyes fade. Sorry I couldn't help.
