At first I was ready for the big chop of my damaged hair off(due to breakage from braids and my lack of caring for it properly)but now I am wondering if whether or not I should cut it off in stages

. While I would love to start with a good head or hair I would also like to start with a length of hair,as well

The question is should I have the bad and good hair together and try growing it that way(length) or should I start with just the good hair(not much length)

I am moreso leaning towards cutting of the bad and just have the undamaged hair to work w

! My only problem is that I don't know of any style for the length that it will probably be(tapered in the back and thumb length for the remaining hair)....any recs of styles, products, etc... that I can use would be awesome

!! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and I look forward to the replies

Warmest regards,

I personally would keep gettting a good trim until all the damaged parts or gone. That is what I did in January.(I got some serious breakage from a bad perm) I just picked up a copy of sophisticates black hair and picked up a cute style and just got it cut. I am glad I did as my hair is quickly growing back and seems to be back on some road to recovery. Some people prefer just to cut it all off at once and start new. Do what you think will work for you!

I would just go ahead and cut all the damage out. I had to recently and my hair looks so much better and I no longer have breakage or hair splitting up the shaft. It will grow back, just like mine did.
