U know i had to put that disclaimer in da title cause i know we all love a bit of hair porn:lachen::lachen::lachen:!
ok so i'm doing this hair journey and all is going well my hair grows 0.5 inches per month and i'm retaining all my length...i have no split ends although i keep thinking should i trim to keep them healthy, my hair is in fantastic condition i can comb through the whole of my 3c head and only have 5 shed hairs...i'm also transitioning and am 10 months into my transition. i'm jus so scared of having a set back i occasionally dust as well.:nono::nono::nono:not sure what:nono: to do is having no splits a sign of healthy hair or should ends be trimmed regardless.. TIA

I mean IMO if you dont need the trim dont do it. If your hair is healthy and you dont see splite ends, whats the point? I was wondering the same thing about my ends, I havent trimmed in about 4months and I know some ppl trim every 6wks...but like I said IMO if it's healthy and NO SPLIT ENDS...why do it?

I do understand where you are coming from Hikmah1986, last year I trimmed my hair once or twice but this year I trim my hair four times and I also do s&d because I was afraid of causing a setback and I believe I caused myself my own little setback by trimming too much that I had to get a corrective trim (after that I trimmed my hair again myself). My ends weren't split & I did have a couple ssks but I didn't need to trim constantly. Moral of this story is: if your ends are fine then leave them alone.

thank u all so much for the replies...it gives me so much reassurance....that i shall not trim...thanks again!

If you dust, there should be no need to trim.

I agree. I believe you should dust regularly regardless but if you're dusting then several dustings over the course of the year save you needing to have a trim.
