Ive never concidered locks but if I ever went there, SL would be what Id get.

What are the pros/cons of havinf sister locs....how often do you get them retightened? Do you retighten yourself, or go to a professional? What is your hair care regimen?

Pros: Too many to really name, but lets just say my routine is stupid simple and my hair retains its length without doing anything extra...I can style my hair in all the styles I did when I was natural.

Cons: The starting cost can be a beast, but its not that bad.

How often for retightenings: This varies and to some degree is up to preference and SL size: thicker SL (maybe locs 350 and lower) can go longer without retightening-I've heard of people retightening twice a year-thinner locs 500 or more may require consistant retightenings. I retighten every 8 to 10 weeks at the hands of a professional-the cost is not bad at all. You can also learn how to maintain them yourself courtesy via youtube.

Care regimen:
Wash when dirty with a shampoo
Oil when dry with an oil...
...thats about it.

All locs can be taken down

I thought it was really hard to get them taken down? Do you have any beginning photos? My hair is thin so I'm a little worried about how it'd look on me
