Hello everyone!!! i have made a decision to get braid at the end of this month in order to grow out my hair. I wanna be SL by december and I feel braid will help me do this.

I am a very busy woman at school!
*18crd hrs
*2 jobs
*2 to 3 extra curricular activities(BSU, sister circle ect...)

The last thing I wanna worry about is my hair so ima get braid and get them done every 2 months to check and see what my length is!!!!!

What length are you starting at?

Braids really do help when you have a lot of stuff going on in your life. You can care for your hair and still spend more of your time or your priorities. :yep:

So braids can be good for your hair AND your schedule!

I am at the length where my ends can frequently touch my clothing collars what length is that??
but newayz, thats my short term goal for now so i can swing my hair around like a white girl by the spring semester!LOL!:lachen:
 
Hey Shatera, thats my goal to, I also have braids in for growth as well. So good luck and Happy Hair Growing....lets get that shoulder length hair.

Hey you....that's my goal too......I thought about getting my hair braided this fall too. I go 1 month with the braids though. When I go back to GSU my braider will be there. Might get it done next week or wait 2 weeks after my next scheduled relaxer....who knows.

I also take 18cr hrs

I am with you. I just bought my new staple which is keracare and I need four inches to get to sl by dec. it hink I can I think I can.......
I will wash and wrap no heat and no trims until 12/08.
 
Hey girl, I'm trying to gte to SL too. I need about 3 inches. Not sure if Ill get there by december but by next year hopefully.
 
OT: Locabouthair, I love the saying by Joel Osteen that you have in your siggy. It is sooooo true!:yep:
 
I'm in the SL challenge , what kind of braids will you do ? Good luck and hope that you will reach your goal .

I plan on gettin micros for now but ima stop puttin them in crazy hair styles and pullin them in tight ponytails and keep low maintanance on them and take care of them so my hair can grow!

GIRL! I wish you luck AND endurance, with all those activities! :lachen: Don't forget to get some rest now, that's a lot. :grin:
 
You can do it!!! :yep: :yay: Just make sure you take great care of your hair under the braids and you should be golden. :D

I'm shooting for the same goal. :D My siggy pic is where I was about 8 weeks ago. My next touchup will be on the 22nd of this month (10 weeks).

I'm using a mix of MT and BeeMine nightly. I plan on not trimming for the rest of 08, only using direct heat once a month (if at all), DC'ing at least once a week, moisturizing/sealing nightly and keeping my hair pinned up 5-6 days out the week.

My hair has never been as long as it is now, so sometimes it's very difficult for me to picture myself with hair longer than this. But I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and see what happens. :)
 
ok this is what I've decided

I'm going to relax my hair as originally scheduled then I'm gonna get an almost full head weave installation. I plan to wear it for at least a month. The re do up until December.
 
Im hoping to reach SL by Dec 2008 as well. Im currently neck length and using MT as my primary growth aid!

I want to join. I'm pretty much shoulder length in the back but I won't claim it until I get 1.5 more inches so December sounds good. Maybe my sides will have caught up by then. I'm about to wash and dc today so maybe I'll take some "start" pics and finally update my fotki :lol:
 
I've changed my mind again

I'm not gonna relax. This is my 8th week....well Friday will be 8 weeks ...I'm just gonna DC then do the weave until somtime in Sept. If it still looks good I may make it to Oct. Then I will relax.
 
I hope to have SL by Dec. 08 as well.:grin: Good luck and happy hair growing. I'm taking my vits, using MT, and I plan to start co-washing atleast 3 times a week.

val i think you have about 3 inches until SL. your hair looks thick and healthy.
