I was just reading through a post about "hairstyles that are hated"

So what hair styles should these women be wearing? I am not guilt of any, but I do know what it is like to want long healthy hair and you will do your best to mimick it. Believe me I spent years and thousands of dollars trying to find out what works for me. Many women are just doing the best they can, to try to "fit" into the worlds idea of how a womens hair should be?

Hair is a very sensitve issue with women and it seems that her style of choice can be a strike against her.

I am not talking about the lazy or just plain nasty styles. Thats a whole nother story.

So what hair style should the women whose hair is to short and who puts her hair in the stingy ponytail etc.. wear? Should she just wear it down in no style at all and further shame herself?

I say leave these women be. They're probably trying to find "that" style. Who are we to judge their choices, even if they look bad? I do appreciate the gifted who come up with styles that fit them on a whim, but not all can do this. I say kudos to those who have the courage to look like a fool but feel good. It's all about how you feel. With that said, does my hair look ok???:perplexed

Hee hee. So true. Yeah your hair is looks good.

I have worn hair styles that they said women should not wear. Some looked good others didn't:ohwell:. I couldn't give a flying hoot what people say about it. Most women have worn some hairstyle that didn't look good on them. I say let them be, they may have the confidence to not give a hoot:look:.

I wouldn't just approach a woman and say, "Excuse me, but your hair looks beat; here are a few suggestions". I just couldn't...it's rude. Even if I said it in a nicer way, it's still rude.

If there's a person who needs help in the hair/fashion dept. etc, I wait until she brings it up on her own and then I tell her what she should do - as if these ideas just occurred to me, lol.

I had a co-worker who I could tell had beautiful hair. It was natural and such a pretty texture, but she literally would not comb it. Her hair was disastrous. I would do things in her lab and go on LHCF just to pass the time (yeah, right). After a few of these instances she started talking about her hair and how she didn't know what to do with it and so on. I brought her some products, and suggested she go to the salon and just maintain the style through the week. Next thing I know her hair was flowing and beautiful and she even stepped her fashion game up. She looked great. It made me feel like I did some good in the world .

Bottom line: wait until the person brings it up, or have something around to get the conversation going. Then, go in for the kill.

I think it would be nice if the person got a professional to give the hair some shape or layers for movement and then they could wear it down until it grows out for a nice ponytail/bun. Or they could weave it if they're into that.

There's a woman at my job who's in her early thirties. Her hair is neck length, dry and ashy. She sometimes wears it in a "stingy" ponytail and it does look horrible, but I can't tell her this because she might like her hair. It may be an upgrade from how she wore it before :ohwell:.

Other times she leaves it out, no curl or anything. It looks like she just blow-dries it and the leaves it at that. It's very uneven and I guess if she really feels like doin' the damn thing, she wears those small pastel butterfly clips in the front of her head. About 6 going across the front. If we were friends I'd try to find a polite way to put a stop to this, but we're not and it's entertaining.
