I thank you ladies so much for all the love and the words of encouragement. I really don't wanna lock my Fotki because I found out about LHCF and Fotki by stumbling onto someone else's Fotki. I wanna make sure that someone else can look at my photos and be motivated the same way that I was. Not saying that my hair is all that, but I know that it is not what it used to be. I guess ultimately I just have to take the bad with the good. Not everyone believes in free will, nor do they understand the reasons why I chose to relax.

I actually considered locs once upon a time, but I am in the army, and the army didn't allow locs. The army regulation stated that they were "unkempt", so it was not something that I was allowed to do. I didn't want to do it to be "more black", but instead because I thought that (when properly maintained) they were very beautiful. I am not ignorant in the least. I just wish that my fellow brothers and sisters would stop thinking that they have found the answer to all life's questions because they decided to lock their hair or go natural.

Thanks so much for the love and support ladies. Glad I got my sistas!

P.S. I will not be locking my album. It's not worth it to me.

Dreadlocks are too high maintenance for some people. I've known people who had them and eventually cut them off.

Ok ladies, I understand folks speaking their minds, but this is ridiculous! I don't lock my fotki, and I make invite people to give CONSTRUCTIVE critisism and advice, but I think I may be restricting access to it after someone had the NERVE to leave this "anonymous" message there:

Therefor like fools you want to reflect the same image of a group of people who alraedy believe they are superior to you. People need to shut up about "all black hair is all the same and can only be maintained in locks" schpeil. Locks are lovely on some people and that is great if someone is happy in locks but got dayum... some people like to actually comb their hair and brush it and have the option to do whatever they want to do to it AND THAT IS OKAY!!!!

Does Fotki have IP address information? Cuz if so, maybe you could ask the admin or mods if the IP address matches anyone from here and then they need to be exposed.

I hate all that back biting crap. People just need to get it off their chests and be an adult.

I used to have my fotki info in my profile but after some little coward was making all kinds of comments about everything from the color of my skin to my religious beliefs and wishing me all kinds of ill health I closed it back.

I might as well add my .02 too... The way I see it is "Don't sweat the small stuff", and trust me this is small... One thing about living in the good old USA, is that we are all free to do whatever we want... It boils down to "You do your thing and I do mine"... It Does not make either one of us right or wrong to do so... What matters most is that you are happy at the end of the day with yourself... There are a lot of unhappy people out there... Some people have reasons to be unhappy others are just "A" holes... and to them I don't give the satisfaction to think, they have rattled my cage in any way... You know..I feel your pain. I am black AND hispanic, NOT JUST ONE..and I get so tired of being put on the line as to "choose" what I should be so socitey can accept me. When I was ignorant on how to take care of my natural hair when I was younger, I had many "black" people tell me I was lying about being hispanic, because my hair "LOOKED" too nappy. WHAT F@&*in IGNORANCE!!!!! Ever since I can remember I have had to defend my culture, my background, my race, my skin color, ALL OF IT..and frankly I'm done explaining. Either you get it, or you don't. People who define your RACE from the quality of your hair, or you skin color are BEYOND the need of a good EDUCATION...EVER SEEN A DARK SKINNED HISPANIC PERSON?? not every hispanic person has long silky flowing locks..Many in Central America, have hair just like mine..THICK AND "NAPPY" LOOKING..BUT soft as a pillow to the touch..Take that FREEDOM, and put it in a good book. Educate yourself on what the world looks outside of AFRICA...
