At first I was loving my texturizer because of the versatility. When my hair is wet, it is straight, and a handful of gel and a headband keeps it straight. It USED to dry into a curly little afro, now it's just a ball of frizz. I can't get it to curl up with any kind of curling calm or mousse. Gel only makes it straight. I don't know what to do anymore. I am getting tired of pulling my hair back. The summer is almost over and I wanted to wear my down for a while. Is there any way I could apply a mild relaxer over the texturizer?

When I was texturized gel never worked for me - it was too heavy and would weigh my hair down and I'd end up with stringy curls. I only used mousse or styling cremes. What kind of texturizer do you use? Do you want your hair complelety straight? If you apply a mild relaxer your hair may come out straighter than it already is.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do

I didn't make myself clear. I want to get rid of my texturizer. I use Alter Ego texturizer now.

Did you have your texturizer professionally done? Maybe to be on the safe side you should consult with a stylist before doing anything. Good luck to ya.
