So, I have had thin edges for a while but today I noticed a new thinning spot. I almost panicked, but then I took a deep breath and tried to figure out a solution. So I figured that the cause of it is probably my scarf/bonnet and how it rests on my head at night. That said., I decided to stop using it and use my satin ones.
I also decided to start doing my scalp massages again in those areas that are thin (I stopped because my applicator bottle busted). Now for my question...I know that tea works for hair growth and stimulating the follicle. My question is how do you ladies think it will work in a concoction mixed with aloe vera juice, castor oil, peppermint and rosemary essential oils? It wouldn't be but a small portion of the concoction, but I really wanted to get some opinions about how it may work. Maybe somebody else has tried it? :look:
Thanks in advance for any and all responses!

I'll bite...your mix sounds like something I need to get back to..well actually I didn't mix it all together. I put the tea in a spray bottle and applied it to my hair after I shampooed. I use castor oil with peppermint and rosemary EOs as a scalp oil and massage it in. I apply it to the hair as well (however, Too much has caused some wardrobe malfunctions tho as it leaks down my neck!). I use aloe vera gel mixed with castor oil to lay down my hair in the front.

The main take away..for your edges, slather on the castor oil. I looked in the mirror the other and smiled because even if everything else wants to go crazy on my body, my hairline is quite lovely from days and nights of castor oil! It will work

Hibiscus tea is a good candidate for your concoction. I use hibiscus infused coconut oil for oil rinses, oil scalp, seal ends. Hibiscus promotes hair growth, stops hair loss, conditions/strengthen hair from root to tip. Its easy to make a hibiscus tea and add a few ounces to your concoction. Do a search and find out what is easily available to you. Some folks order the powder online. I use sorrel (Jamaican hibiscus) because it does not stain. I get the dried flowers from local carribean shop. I use some for oil and make teas to add to my acv and hair shine rinses. You will need to include a preservative with hibiscus tea. HTH

I totally agree with using the castor oil. It is great for the hairline, softens up your new growth, and adds a nice shine. Knowing that the hairline is a fragile, and thinner from the other hair on the head, use a simple spray mix with ingredients that won't irritate your scalp.

I have a mixture I use to keep me from shedding like crazy and it worked so well I've adopted into my DC regimen.

I mix saw palmetto tea 6oz, garlic tablet (it dilutes in the solution), and lemongrass (plus other eo's to help the smell). I keep it in the fridge and spray it on my scalp before I put my conditioner on. It delivers a nice little tingle (no doubt from the eo's) but it really decrease shedding and it appears to thicken up my hair situation a bit. I've only been using it for 7 weeks, but so far so good!
