do you guys know whether it is possible for relaxed head with a braid out to have that "mexican" mousse-y look, hope u know what i mean. I've never put mousse in my hair so i dunno.
I attached a pic, I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about. But what I did for that pic, was i had about 6 conrows at night then I moisturized it (really well) and sealed, and I baggy'ed the whole night. Then in the morning I took the braids out sprayed my leave in (mostly water) then sealed and put it in a banana clip. HTH
Lol, @"mexican mousse look" I know exactly what you mean, being from southern Cali. I know the mexicans usually have wavy/curly hair anyways so right after the shower they put alotta mousse and gel. Ive always tried that look but by the end of the day my hair would dry up. Mousse, gel, and any other sticky alcholic substance dries out my hair. Let me know if anyone finds out how to keep the look throught the day without the harsh chemicals.
I think I know what you mean. Maybe a braid-out done on wet hair with a strong hold gel. When you take the braids out be careful separating it since you want it to have a wet and not poofy look.
I know what u mean- possibly mousse, some leave in condish like infusium 23, gel, and an oil like olive oil all toghether will do the trick. When i apply nexxus humectress as a leave in on wet hair and braid it i also get a wavy look- but it doesnt look as shiny as thiers though
I used to date a Salvadoran and he used Isoplus hair grease and water to get his hair straight and to get it lay down. He had 3a/3b hair that he got to mimic 1a.
Sometimes I am able to achieve the look, somtimes not. The key is how moistured your hair is. Instead of mouse or gel, I put a lot of deep conditioner in my hair and leave it in all day. It keeps your hair moisturized and shiny all day. You have to put a generous amount of deep conditioner in (right after you have washed your hair and your hair is still wet). I have also achieved this look by using kinky-curly custard. A little goes a long way.
P.S. Make sure you use a deep conditioner that disappears into your hair as you rub it in. A conditioner that is very white or creamy is going to show up in your hair. I use ORS or Kenra.
