If airdrying doesn't work for you, then figure out which days you can co-wash and still have time to rollerset. That's what I had to do. Airdrying is sometimes hit or miss for me so I'm to the point where I feel like I'm just gonna have to rollerset if it's the best thing for my hair.

There's no point in co-washing for the added moisture benefit if I'm only gonna end up with tangled breaking hair.

Maybe just wetting it will work for you... I havent done a co-wash yet, but just misting mine with a oil water mixture, then applying leave in conditioner, then putting it in braids (all at night) is working for me... different strokes for different folks. i wanna try to cowash though, bout to go to the beauty supply store now and see what they got for me...

I co-wash every Wednesdays with VO5 strawberry and cream.Fist, I separate my hair into two halves down the middle. I get in the shower I let water run down my hair for a couple of minutes. Then I put the conditioner in, take care of one side at a time and detangle my hair while rinsing it off. Then, I put NTM deep recovery hair mask put a shower cap on and do what i got 2 do in the shower. I rinse it off, dry my hair with a towel to take out the excess water. I apply NTM silk touch leave-in cream, joico split end mender, and herb ego to my scalp. Then I braid my hair (its really soft tangle free, I am 4 months post). put my scarf on, and i go to bed.

I cowash and air dry in braids. I am starting to blow dry more. My hair gets a little tangled even in braids.

I didn't vote because I alternate. Today I just co-washed and braided my hair in two corn rows. But lately, I have been co-washing twice a week and rollersetting. My hair loves the hood dryer method. But I do wanna refrain from heat, cuz i end up blowing out my roots and edges.

Well Soror, I am going to try to Co-wash and Roller Set and see how that works.

good thread
i dont think airdrying is for me either
still have to figure this one out
my hair comes out dry and crunchy and I'm moisturizing sealing when it's damp!

I don't co-wash b/c I have fine hair, and I think that would be too much build-up on my hair. But I am intrigued...I never seem to see what conditioners people are actually using for this purpose.

I co-wash then I use my mango butter, and seal with my coconut oil braid and let air dry, and it has been the best thing to ever happen to my hair.

For the most part I co-wash nightly....air dry about 95% and then do a braidout. I love it...it has done wonders for my hair and it's soooo easy to do.

Daily Co washer and it took me a while to find what worked for me.. Its all about trial and error I think, dont give up until you find the products that work for "U". I love to co wash with mane and tail moisturizing, vo5 moisture milks or HE and leave alittle of the vo5 in the hair afterwards.. I seal with cocunut oil and my hair is nice and soft thru out the day. HTH

Just straight minute co washing does NOT work for me.

My hair needs more moisture.

I apply either cholesterol conditioner or V05 conditioner to dry hair and give myself a good DC. Then I rinse. It's a DC AND Co wash. :yep:

I also add a spoonful of oil to it.

(I dc with V05 at times because I want a lighter treatment so I don't overcondition my hair)

I am Relaxed and I Co-Wash, Deep Condition and Air Dry. Sometimes I do a 50% Dryer and 50% Air Dry.:yep:

Since I am in the No Heat Challenge i.e. No Direct Heat, Co-Washing and doing this has been great for My Relaxed Hair.

This has greatly lessened both the unnecessary manipulation and the unnecessary use of styling tools by allowing it to just airdry and then moisturize.

I bun and air dry when I co wash after applying moisturizer and oil, I do this in between my weekly shampoo and DC when I roller set with heat
