Trying to figure out what my hair would look like natural...

This may sound like a stupid question but would it be safe to look at a picture of myself maybe at 2 or 3 years old to determine the natural state of my hair. I know that is sad but I truly do not remember what my natural hair looks like with exception to this picture that I have (it looks softer than I would have ever imagined) and I actually like it in the picture. After a mishap, I am weighing my options and am strongly considering transitioning being that I may never have a better opportunity than now. Thanks in advance.

Most people's hair doesn't change to they're true texture til around that time (2-3 yrs). Your hair might not be the same texture anymore. The only way to truly tell is to grow it out, IMO.

I seriously doubt it.

The hair textured probably has changed since you were a toddler.

Also constant chemical use may have had an affect on it as well.

It's hard to say. You just aren't going to really know until you get rid of the relaxed hair. Through most of my transition, I expected my hair texture to be one thing and it turned out to be something else completely.

Chances are that your hair texture has changed since you were two or three. But it's possible to get some kind of clue as to what your hair is like from old pictures. I just wouldn't bank on it.

I would suggest growing your hair out to get some idea of what your natural hair looks like. I would think that 12-16 post could give you somewhat of an idea. Are you thinking about going natural?

I've never understood why a trim would change hair texture. I've been natural most of my adult life and my texture after, before, or while relaxed never changed and I was NEVER surprised by it when I big chopped. My texture is very different now because I take better care of it and myself, but before LHCF my texture remained the same no matter what style (relaxed or natural) I wore.
