I had to say two things:

For the naturals that straighten there hair....I'm a 4a natural and last night I washed my hair. But the exciting thing is....I blow dried it straight in less time than I've ever blow dried my hair before!!! It literally took me about 4 minutes instead of 15-20. How did I accomplish this? Well I washed my hair in one ponytail. Somehow my hair didn't tangle up. I put the band at three different spots on my ponytail and so this didn't allow my hair to revert completely. Usually it'll curl up super duper tight, but the pony tail stopped the reversion and so when I did my final rinse my hair was still pretty straight!!! AMAZING!

Anyways my blow dry took only 4 minutes or so, which means a lot less heat for me. No tangles and I didn't lose a strand of hair for the first time EVER!

Second thing:

My doctor gave me a B12 shot, for a medical issue I'm having, will this also encourage hair growth?

the method that you used to wash your hair is called banding but I would call the way you did it with a ponytail a modified banding . How well did you get to your scalp like that? but good for you , you found something that worked well for you and what I 've found from all these hair boards is that people can tell how they did whatever to get growth or healthier hair or whatever they want but everyone has to find what works best for them.

as for the B I have heard that B vitamins do help you to grown stronger hair and nails but I don't know what one shot would do. I guess a regimen of shots would help.
