I was just reading thru some past post and wondering if there were any updated on Ultra Thick Hair Shakes???

Are you still using it??? Have you seen an increase growth since using it? how many times a week or day do you use it??? Any pictures???

I bought the shake and never tried it. But let me just say the vitamins are the most potent I"ve ever tried.

I have this milkshake but I only really use it when i remember to for about a year and a half. I think it does cause my hair to be stronger and look healthier.

I can never stick to drinking it on a consistent basis. I've been trying to get back into it for the past few weeks.

:lick: I don't think I've heard of this before now, can someone please post a link?

Hate to be off topic but your baby is so adorable!:)

The ingredients don't look too promising to me. I think it would be more beneficial to drink a protein shake.

It is sold at the vitamin shoppe. You can buy it online. The vitamin shoppes near me never have it. I want to try it but do not want to order on line. GNC might also sell it but I have never seen it.

I've been using this for the past 3 months and I like the product. I'm not a vigilant in taking pills as I'd like to be when it comes to my hair but this i feel gives me a complete range all vitamins and minerals in a form I'm more likely to keep up with. I love the taste. And as a matter of fact it's so great My BF drinks it regularly too. He loves it! He thinks its a treat. Typically I use my Hand-Held Mixer to get the thickness I desire. I normally Take 2 of these a day. I think the shake/liquid form of vitamins is more readily absorbable in the body than pills. It's just more convient and tolerable for me to take it this way. I have noticed some growth. Not to say it's the UHShake because I'm currently on MTG as well and quite a few other things. Currently I'm achieving 3/4 inch of growth each month with this and my other supplements (silica,biotin,selenium,mtg,etc..). I like it and I'm keeping at it. Besides I have more range to add things to maake it more enjoyable (fruit etc.

How many times a day do you ladies drink this? I just started last Friday.

I bought some today !! After I detox I'll be back on a system in Jan 06.

I purchased some of this last week...for the most part do you ladies drink it once or twice a day?

I don't use this shake, but I do use another. After adding an extra shake in the evening a couple of weeks ago (to help curb my appetite) my hair started growing way faster than normal. I can only assume it is the shake, I did not change anything else (other than simplifying my routine recently).

I really think protein shakes work. I am taking a whey protein shake twice a day. Each has 20 g of protein. I am not taking any other vitamins except Biosil, which I have taken for about 5 months now. I also TRY to balance my diet with 40% protein.

Edited to add:

Thursday night will mark me at 2 weeks post and I have 1/4 inch and 1/2 growth in most places. I have an area in the back that does not have as much growth at all, but this still is a lot for me. I got similar growth when I was using growth aids, but I stopped using them in order to simplify things in my life. I only oil my scalp with Emu oil daily and that's it. I know this growth is normal for MTG ladies, but this is a lot for me since I am not using anything to speed growth. I think it is the protein shake.

where did you purchase the Biochem Whey Protein from??

I can get it from Whole Foods or most of my local places like that. Vitamin Shoppe has it, as well.

I first started using earlier this year when someone at Vitamin Shoppe suggested it to me after I told them that the others make me feel sick.

It used to be called Lo Carb Whey, but they changed the name recently. Which is good because I don't think Whey has many carbs anyway.

I stopped drinking because I thought it was nasty the way the package suggest mixing it.

Now I use 3 oz frozen strawberries, 4 oz vanilla yogurt, ice, 2 ounces of skim milk and 3 packs of splenda. It taste great and fills me up.

It does not make me gain weight because I count calories and the shakes are factored in. My shake is 246 calories after I add everything and I drink it as a meal. I eat 1500 calories a day and I try to balance it with 40% carbs 40% protein 20% fat. The shakes are factored in and I drink them everyday. It is a part of my normal diet.

oh ok thanks..im checking on some and going to research into it...

I am going to start these shakes soon. Some may not like the ingredients but once I got a hold to the full ingredient list, I was sold {it contains over 2,000 grams [mcg] of Biotin in one serving}. I'm not going to start them yet but I hope to see results. I'm not sure if I would be using this alone or not though but maybe for the first month to gauge the results by itself.

I am interested in trying some of these shakes. I think I will visit the vitamin shoppe this weekend.

I already take the 10,000 mcg Freeda biotin, would the added biotin in this shake kill me? I am not trying to be brain damaged for some hair. TIA.

I'm not sure if it will cause brain damage or worse kill you. I would take a B-complex supplement once or twice a day to help even out the biotin. I remember reading this on the forum long time ago. I do know that whatever biotin your body does not use comes out as waste {urine} since it is water-soluble.

I also want to say that to anyone who is taking the Ultra Hair Shake along with other vitamins [or in some cases juice] to make sure you are watching the level of Vitamin A intake as well. The shake contains 5,125 IU of Vitamin A.

Lanelle, where did you get the list from? On the can it just shows percentages of how much it contains of a certain ingredient..or do you know how to calculate the percentages into mcgs, etc..

If you go to most websites or read the can it does only show percentages. However, I saw the list on the company's website but it also included the list in the canister {on the tab where you open it}. Since I can't pull the website up now because of a slow connection, I'll just post the ingredients from the list I have:

Riboflavin 12 mg
Vitamin C 102 mg
Zinc 15 mg
Niacinamide 40 mg
Calcium 200 mg
Protein 7 g If mixed with milk, the total protein is 14 g
Vitamin A 5125 IU
Magnesium 100 mg
Potassium 90 mg
Manganese 5 mg
Thiamin 10 mg
Vitamin E 115 IU
Biotin 2198 mcg
Vitamin D 222 IU
Copper 2 mg
Choline 250 mg
Chromium 50 mcg
Selenium 100 mcg
Phosophorus 100 mg
PABA 75 mg
Folic Acid 400 mcg
Vitamin B12 10 mcg
Vitamin B6 15 mg
Pantothenic Acid 100 mg
Iron 18 mg
Iodine 105 mcg
L-Cysteine 72 mg
L-Gluthione 10 mg
L-Methionine 80 mg
L-Taurine 25 mg
MCT 1000 mg
Inositol 250 mg
Safflower Oil 2000 mg
Lactobacillus acidophilus 25 mg
Papain (papaya) 50 mg
Protease (brown rice) 20 mg
Lipase (brown rice) 20 mg
Amylase (brown rice) 20 mg
Bromelain (pineapple) 100 mg

I went ahead and listed the ingredients and the amounts because I'm sure other people are confused about the percentages. The ingredient list is on the website, but you have to search for the product and then view the label.
