Hey,

My MTG Original is due anyday. But I need your advice.

Do I use it on my entire hair length. Scalp to ends?
DO I use it as a conditioner, leave on then rinse out?
Do I still use my oringinal products?
I could write questions all day

Any regimes or advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Kizzy

Hey kizzy,
I use mine everyother day and I apply it directly to my scalp and you can use it all over your hair if you like but make sure you massage it into your scalp so it can absorb. You also can apply this once a week if you wash your hair once a week it is also best to apply on dry hair. And you should apply it at night so by morning the smell has evaporated. Make sure you shake the bottle really well so all the ingredients will mix well. It is oil so you wont have to apply a whole lot is should penetrate well. And it shouldn't leave your hair too greasy. Apply it as a leave in oil Don't wash it out until your regular wash hair day. You can still use your other products but make sure you don't put too much of your other products in your hair so the mtg oil will be able to work well.

Thanks Girl,

I will try that regime. So basically I let it take the place of my moisturiser ?

I am afraid of the greasyness though. How do you style your hair ?
Is it weighed down, can you still wear it out ?

Sorry for all the questions

I still use my regular moisturizer with the MTG. I apply the MTG to my scalp only, but when I wrap it at night some of it gets distributed to my ends. It is a little oily, but the greasy feeling goes away in about a day or so. Use it sparingly because a little goes a long way.

Hi Kizzy!
I just received my MTG today. Right now I have micros in so I plan on using it once a week. I already wash my braids weekly so I will apply it after the wash.

I was thinking that my hair may benefit a little more from it if it was braided up ?

I put mine on the scalp only....some does get on the hair and I rub that through. The first time I used WAYYYY to much and it smelled for two days. This way it only smells that night. I plan on only using it the nights that I wash...twice a week.

Right Now I Am Rocking A Sew-in Weave And I Was Scared That The Oil Would Make My Hair Greasy But It Does Not Infact It Makes Manageable It The Weave Part Is Actually Smooth And Not Rough Like It Usually Gets Around This Time (2wks). So Don't Be Afraid To Use It On Natural Hair Or If Your Hair Is In A Sew-in Or Even Braids As Long As U Can Apply It To Your Scalp That Is The Key. It Works Just As Good If Not Better Than A Normal Moisturizer.

So, if you are only using it on the scalp does it matter if the hair is dry or not?

The horse and their mane/tail is probably dry when they put it on him/her, so if it works for them, it should work for people......since they say it's Ok to do so.

I use mine every day, I mixed it with some distilled water, Rose elixir, rosemary eo, and vegetable glycerin, and spray away, I'm in twists, I wash weekly, I use Mane Attraction on my scalp before I spray...and what else, oh yes I use BBD Stretch on my ends, tie my hair up and go to bed...

My plan is to use it every three or four days, whether or not I wash in between. I will use it on my scalp only, in order to keep the smell manageable. To me it smells like a mix of Sulphur 8 and Liquid Smoke.

Don't forget ucnooked BACON.

Are any of u afraid that adding essential oils, glycerin etc. will disturb the potency of the formula, making it less effective?

Since my hair is different from a horse's mane, I think I will be using this right after I wash my hair-on the scalp only. I hope it works for me.

I just got my bottle (didn't realize the bottle would be so big - but I guess it is for a horse! ). My cousin started using hers and she complained about the smell but I really can't smell it on her. Just to be safe I am planning to use it every other night and condition wash the next day. Hope it works! :dork:

I would'nt dilute it with anything. I want it full strength!

Maybe it's just me but I really don't find the smell that big a deal :look: I mean it does'nt smell good, but I was expecting it to smell alot worse from what everybody was saying. It does'nt smell like :fart: or anything. But then again raw bacon is'nt something I would have compared it to either.

A little goes a long way and if you don't use too much the smell should not last for days. I find the smell is much lighter when put on clean hair and I only put it on my scalp. Whatever gets on the length of my hair is from it being brushed through. I wash and reapply 2-3 times a week. The first time I used it I applied at night and smelled it all the next day but I realized I had used way more than necessary.

I agree, it doesn't smell that bad. I used it for the first time on Sunday and washed last night. My hair felt so strong, and I hardly had any shedding. It's a keeper. I'll get over the smell, and everyone else around me will have to as well.

This is good to know. I will be using it on a freshly washed scalp/hair...so, maybe a plastic cap for the first day or so won't be necessary afterall. :)

I might be wrong, because I've never been near a horses tail but I think the product just coats the hair to keep it from breaking. After all the tail is exposed to the air all the time and that makes it prone to dryness. I used this product about 10 years ago, it worked wonders for about 6 months and after that I had the worst scalp problems in Texas. Just my opinion.

*bump* I would like to know what kind of scalp problems this product causes as well seeing as how I just ordered a big old bottle.

I've been using it for a few months and I have had nothing but success with it. My new growth was soft and it didn't even itch before it was time to get my relaxer. For the first time in a LONG time, I didn't burn during my relaxer. I've got all love for this stuff! Pics in my fotki, regimine in the "about me" section.

My scalp pretty much dried out and I ended up going to the Derm. and he gave me some treatments for my scalp. It took forever (8 mos)to get it to stop flaking. I used shampoo for psorasis.

Was it because you were allergic to the sulfur?

I want to know too...if the scalp problems had anything to do with you maybe being allergic to sulfur. :look:

Don't leave us hangin' girl...
