I heard so many positive things about virgin coconut oil and so many ladies shared their reveiews that i went out and purchased me some.
im just curious as how do i use it. i was told it can be used as a deep conditioner so does that mean i just put it in my hair then sit under the cap for 30-60 mins? should i wash it out with shampoo???

all the ladies that use coconut oil in your regimen please help:nono:

I use coconut oil all the time. One of my favorite ways to use it is inbetween washes when I need to infuse moisture into my hair. At night before I take a shower I add coconut oil to my hair. I put my hair up in a bear claw and since I love to take steamy hot showers it allows the coconut oil to penetrate my hair. Once done my hair is soft and manageable. Then I wrap it up and go to sleep.... when I wake up in the morning my hair is extremely moisturized.

I use it as a scalp massage and pre-shampoo treatment. I also use it lightly for sheen on dry hair.

It is interesting reading that article, because I have also tried it added to my conditioner on wet hair, and I have not loved the results as much as on dry. Thanks for the link.

Pre-conditioner on scalp for an hour on dry hair, then shampoo and rinse is what I do. I did use it as my primary styling oil but when the weather got cold it actually froze on my hair and it looked like dandruff.

I LOVE IT!!! I use it in my prepoos along with a lot of other oils. But I also use it if my hair looks a little dry. If its a humid day and my hair gets a little frizzy...I put some (not a lot about a dime size for my bsl hair) and put my hair in a sponge roller...the next day my hair is nice and shiney with no more frizz!
