Hey Ladies

I only drink spring water, and im sure you all do too. I am in college and drink bottled water and I want to drink lots and tots cuz its so good but I drink like all my water in 3 days. Are you ladies that drink lots of water buying jugs or bottles or filters or what? Help please!!! lol

thanks!

I have bottled water for when I'm leaving home or working out. But I have a filter on my fridge for when I'm home.

i have a brita filter at home, so i use that.

and we have a filtered water cooler at my office so i fill my glass up with that every hour. this eliminates the need to buy bottled water.

I like tonic water so once the bottles are empty I use them to fill up with my PUR water filter.

I use a brita water filter and bring a jug to work everyday. I don't buy brands like Dasani or Aquafina because you are only paying for purified drinking water.

We have a water cooler at work and we always have like jugs and jugs of water. People that i work with are not big on drinking water. I usually just take my bottle and fill it several times and drink it throughout the day at work. On the weekends I have cheap cases of water in the house. But why drink all of my water up during the week when I can get it from work for free?:ohwell: Their not drinking it anyway.

That is exactly what I do.

How tightly are these spring water companies regulated, just out of curiosity? I've heard of some companies being sued because people think they're just using tap water.

What she said :yep:. The Brita is the best investment for water I've made...and its inexpensive.

I only buy bottled water when I go to the movies (cleanest beverage I can find at the movies short of strapping water to my body). Otherwise, I pretty much drink from the tap as our water is supposed to be clean, and I always re-use my movie water bottles.

$20 Brita filter on the faucet will save you loads

Brita baby -all the way... No one can afford these water prices.

I just drink tap water :look:

If I have access to bottled free water then fine. But there is nothing wrong with tap

I Just bought a Brita faucet water filter Saturday because buying water was too expensive. I bought it for $28 at walmart and the filter lasts about 4 months.

ETA: I try to drink as much water as possible at work because the water is filtered and free.

Arrowhead at home for free. Also we buy bottled water for home all the time

Like so many other ladies have said, I have a water filter at home. I don't buy bottled water anymore.

Whats wrong with tap?? Bottled water is a hype. I drink mostly tap but I will drink bottled water if I am out. If I am home, I refuse to buy what is already available free.

I only drink bottled water so that I can keep tabs on just how many ounces I am drinking in a day. Otherwise I too see nothing wrong with tap. If I'm not mistaken that's all bottled water is anyway. Just packaged. I use them for convenience. I'm not really pressed to buy a filter. Tap water. That's what Moms raised me on anyway.

I have a filter on my faucet like most of you have mentioned. I primarily use water bottles at the gym, but even that is wasteful.

Please recycle if you are using plastic bottles. I am a recycling fanatic.

I think im going to buy a brita filter pitcher...they last a couple months right? and i can save my aquafina liter bottles and fill them up...

Brita pitcher for me. Or you can buy your own plastic container and boil tap water and refrigerate it.

I definitely do believe that there's a difference between tap water & purified water - now what they're putting in bottles, who knows. The only way to know that it's purified is to do it yourself i.e filters, distillers, ionizers.

In a perfect world, I would own my own water distiller or ionizer but I can't right now so I just buy distilled water by the gallons. In Wal-Mart they're less than a dollar & I've even seen them @ Piggly Wiggly for like 52 cents.

not so much. LOL

i'm in college too and while it's convenient i just refuse to pay for something that runs from my faucet for free. we have a brita and i refill my nalgene every morning, and when it runs out i stop by a water fountain. sometimes i just stick my face under the faucet at home -shrug-

We always buy bottled water but I am going to get one of those Brita filters now! I cant stand our water from the faucet it taste funny!!

Bottled vs. Tap
Whether bottled water is better than tap water, and justifies its expense, remains under debate. Stephen Kay, vice president of the IBWA, says member bottlers are selling the quality, consistency and safety that bottled water promises, and providing a service for those whose municipal systems do not provide good quality drinking water.

"Bottled water is produced and regulated exclusively for human consumption," Kay says. "Some people in their municipal markets have the luxury of good water. Others do not."

Thornley, of the Minnesota Department of Health, agrees that consumers can depend on bottled water's safety and quality. But he says consumers should feel the same way about the quality of their tap water. Tap water may sometimes look or taste differently, he says, but that doesn't mean it's unsafe. In fact, the most dangerous contaminants are those that consumers cannot see, smell or taste, he says. But consumers don't need to worry about their presence, he adds. Municipal water systems serving 25 people or more are subject to the federal Safe Drinking Water Act. As such, the water constantly and thoroughly tested for harmful substances, he says. If there is a problem, consumers will be warned through the media or other outlets.

"In lieu of being told otherwise, consumers should feel confident of the safety of their water," Thornley says.

I found this at http://www.fda.gov/FDAC/features/2002/402_h2o.html

I drink a gallon or more of water a day. I drink tap, but because I live in Belgium, I use a Brita filter. If I were in the States, I would just drink it straight from the tap. the US has some of the best, if not the best, water purification standards in the world. Plus, there is flouride in tap water, and some distilleries leave flouride, which is essential for the care of teeth, out of their water. If I were in college, I would definitely spend my money somewhere else other than on water. A Brita filter/pitcher will cost you about 30 dollars. Each filter lasts around 2 or 3 months, depending on how much you use it. Each replacement filter is about 5 dollars. It's way cheaper than trying to buy bottles of water, which can run about a dollar a bottle (extortionate). OR, I think one of the ladies up here suggested buying gallons of water from the grocery store and then putting them in your old water bottles...a gallon of water you can usually get for 50 cents, and if you're drinking two liters a day, it should last you for about a day and a half to two days...even then, your spend per week is about 3 dollars as opposed to 10 or 12 for bottles. HTH

Yep, I do this too. Although everyone drinks water in my office, but there is more than enough to go round.

i dont drink bottled water it contains sodium(salt) which makes you more thirsty (well the ones in the uk)

I normally just drink from the tap. I have a Brita pitcher but rarely take the time to pull it from the fridge to fill my glass. The water in Philly is pretty good, IMO.

All I drink is water, even if I have a hot chocolate - I must follow with water. So Brita filter is what I use. My daddy used it so I use it... ;)

We have a water filter built into the fridge at home and I get free Deer Park water at work. I fill my 34oz Whole Foods bottle a few times a day at work, and one for the road right before I leave. LOL
