I am so terrible at parting my hair with fingers or even a comb, so that I am able to wear them for a week or so before I take them down. How are you guys sectioning your hair to make medium sized twists? I would love to be able to wear them for a week or so before I take them down...but I don't want them to look scalpy.

I'm thinking about making a row down the middle of my head and twisting that section just so I can avoid the dreaded middle part straight down the head.

Suggestions puh-lease!

When I did twistouts last summer, I would wear the twists for a few days before combing them down too. I would pull mine up in some sort of style though, so the sloppy parts didn't bother me.

I actually think comb-parted twists look more scalpy than finger-parted/grab-and-twist ones.

For a pictorial, I usually make the same size of twists when I twist. These are comb-parted:

These are parted by just grabbing and twisting:

Yup, I prefer to grab and go. Parting takes to long, and with my hair, it fuzzies up quick anyway.
