It will be my first time getting a weave sewn in as a protective style and I wanted to know if its best to sew around or through the wefts for a secure sew in? I've also sealed the wefts with Hair Extensions 101's weft sealer which has made my wefts harder to penetrate. :ohwell:

for my u-part wig i sewed around the weft and sealed with the same weft sealer

I sew around to minimize the shedding. When you sew thru the weft you break the wefts more and cause excessive shedding.

mine gets sewed through and i get no shedding. i think the shedding will have more to do with the brand of weave that you buy. loosely done wefts will shed nomatter what a and sewing around them won't help much.

AROUND! If you sew through, you'll damage the weft and cause the hair to shed.
