~~~~What Am I Doing Wrong?~~~~

I have used the Ion Semi Permanent hair color twice & each time the color rinses out after 1-2 washes. I love the color & the smoothness it gives my hair but I can't get it to stick What am I doing wrong?
Each time I....
Shampoo'd
DC
Apply Color
Process with heat for 20 mins
Rinse
Apply Joico Silk Results for final rinse

Should I not DC before I apply the color? I though about using Porosity Control Poo before applying the color. What do you'll think? TIA

Hey Sis!

Try not dcing before you apply the color. You are filling up any open spots when you dc so the color is having a hard time finding spots to fit in. Try dcing afterwards to see if that helps


BTW What color are you using from them. I want to try it this upcoming week.

Hi Itsy,

Like Gym said, do NOT deep cond before you do the rinse. Most of the time I just do a quick conditioner in the shower after rinsing my color out. Another tip is to clarify the week that you apply your color. I have also began using Aveda Color Conserve poo to make my color last longer. Try these and you should see an improvement in making your color last.

I will clarify first & condition after I rinse the color out. I'm going to get that Aveda poo you suggest Janeemat.

Gym, I mixed Darkest Brown (whole bottle) & Dark Red Brown (about 1/4 of the bottle) together. The result is a deep brown with a hint of red. It gives my grays a reddish brown highlight.
