I am really confused about exactly what type my hair is, I have read quite a few articles that give guidelines on how to tell but I am still at a loss..please help!

That looks a lot like my hair (except in the back) but folks will tell you you have to get rid of the straight ends to be sure what it is. So I am saying I don't know.

Hmmm well that explains why I was struggling to figure it out! Question though, does knowing your hair type make a difference in how you should care for it?

IMO, not at all. From my experiences strand thickness, porosity, density, and reaction to protein are much more important factors.
