Have any of you ever experienced any irritation on your skin (body) from washing your relaxer out in the shower. I have been doing this for over a year and I'm starting to wonder if it's the cause of my skin becoming really sensitive and irritable in certain places. It's really frustating because I don't know what's causing this. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

It could be due to the high pH of relaxers. A high enough pH will irritate the skin. You should follow up with washing your body with something containing an acidic pH.

I would never wash my relaxer out in the shower standing up....I mean just imagine it running all in your booty crack:(...well I don't know.
Do you really wash it standing up with all of the relaxer running down your back or chest? Or do you you bend sideways or forward???

I was thinking the samething. I would be concerned about the traces of the relaxer running down my vagina and booty

...I usually lean my head back in the water flow so that the chemical does not run down my body. It may splash a little here and there but generally I don't have a problem. It never gets on the front of my body

. Maybe I'll go back to leaning over the tub just in case this is part of the problem.

I wash it up standing up and I've never experienced any adverse effects.

But you could be getting irritation from that, so if I was you I would go back to leaning over the tub.
