I'm transitioning, but I don't want to wear my hair in its natural 4b state. What would be the minimum length at which you would BC and what straight styles would you suggest? Pictures welcome and encouraged. Thanks.
Well, Transitions are deceiving. I thought I would have a lot more hair to play with after my 1 year transition, but I didn't. I never took shrinkage into account, well I did, but I didn't think it would be as much as it actually turned out to be since I am a 3c head.
If you want a lot of hair to play with after the BC, a long term transition would be the logical route, maybe 2-3 years.
I agree with Conterria. I am 1 year post right now and there's no way I have enough hair to feel comfortable chopping of my texlaxed ends. I think the minimum transition time would be 18 months to have a decent amount of length. I say, the longer you can hang in there, the better.
