I am still trying to get used to the idea that I have thick hair. Every since I relaxed at 16, my hair has been on the thin side. Not damaged, but lacking volume. Sometimes I would put in a track for thickness. Since discovering LHCF and changing the way I take care of my relaxed hair, I found out it is super thick. This weekend I bought a clip for designed for thick hair. Anyone else make similar discoveries?

:D :D :D

I have discovered that my hair loves to be washed twice a week.. it hates heavy products that contains petroleum but loves Shea butter oil mix.. It loves moisture and does not require much protein only what is in leave-ins. It will accept the use of a reconstructor every few weeks follow by a moisturizing conditioner......
Since realizing this my hair is thriving and becoming thicker...:p :p

same here!! My hair is actually thick too! I've broken 4 hair clips in the past couple of weeks, and my damaged section in the back is still very short so once that really starts growing out who know what will happen... . I love LHCF so much, I'm stretching right now and have a ton of NG but I flat ironed it really well last week and almost cried from joy, my hair has NEVER looked this good and I'm only on my 3rd month of healthy hair care. This place is a godsend!!

I was pleasantly surprised that my hair is REALLY thick. I was and still am a little overwhelmed about the whole situation. I started my journey in November o5 and my hair has never been so long and thick. I still have to grow my overprocessed ends, but since it looks better than decent I am gonna grow till armpit and then work on ends.

My hair was "hiding" it's texture. It was a total surprise to me after transitioning and the big chop. That's how long I had been using a relaxer.

My hair is very coily. Comb coils work beautifully on me. I do this to make the ends of my braidout curly.

My hair(newgrowth) loves cowashes!!!! It is so manageable my jilbere shower comb just slides right through and my hair has gotten thicker also. My bantu knots and rollersets omce out really thick now but I love the big hair!!!!!! Esp since its summer now I just put on some shades and rock my big hair!!!!!:)

Ever since my cheapo flat iron broke in Jan. I have been using no heat. And before that my hair was soooooooooooo thin. I too would add tracks for fullness but now I don't have to. By just air drying and not using the flat iron my hair has done a complete 180.:D

I've been off the blowdryer for 2 months and my hair has thanked me for it by getting fatter strands:D It appreciates Profectiv or Silk Elements topped with a little oil. It will lay down and play nice for 2 days. This is good for my pocketbook and my hair:grin:

I too have found out that my hair is really thick and I have the broken clips to prove it LOL. I have not seen clips designed for thick hair. Where do you get those dicapr? I would love to get some. My hair likes to be CO washed twice a week. If I don't wash that often my dead hairs build up in my hair and the longer I wait to wash the more matted and tangled my hair becomes. I just ordered some Salerm 21, its associated wheat germ mask, and purchased La India hair Creme. I can't wait to try them, but I think I'll wait until after my relaxer this weekend ( last one was Feb. 6th) unless I decide to stretch some more.

It can tolerate blow drying and flat ironing once a week and continues to be healthy... I did that throughout my first year of college (with a few breaks). It hasn't been this long or strong in a longgg time.

That my hair dries soft without the blowdryer, I can wash it more than once a week and it doesn't get hard, and I can go for months without a perm and it grows just fine. :p

I found the clips for thick hair at WalMart. I think Goody's makes them. They say for thick hair on the pack.

I usually see clips for thick hair at Walgreens and Walmart. They're usually made by either Scunci, Goody, or Conair. You'll probably see more of a variety at Walmart though. I hope that helps.

As far as hair secrets I've discovered, I've learned it can tolerate frequent washings quite nicely as long as I'm using shampoos and conditioners that are beneficial to my hair.

That it can really grow!! I have always had below the ear length hair and in six months it's collar bone length. I never believed my hair could grow long!!!!

Since joining this site I've discovered that my hair actually likes water....prior to LHCF I only washed my hair once a month, and when it was in braids I only washed my hair when I took the braids out

That my ng is soft and not as much of a terror as I thought. Contrarily my relaxed ends are the ones that get dry the most.

I have discovered that I have "cowlicks" in the top and front of my head. It grows in a circle - that explains why when I was relaxed I always seemed to have breakage in the top of my head... the relaxer was going against the grain of the "cowlick" and caused breakage... Now that I am 100% natural I can better care for that part of my hair because I can actually see how it grows.

My two cents.

That my hair retains sooo much moisture wihtout heat.

Before I stopped using heat my hair felt really thin. It is now thickening up and I can't WAIT to see my year's progress.

i never knew that i didn't really need to use a THING on my hair for most of the week. i used to keep packin moisturizers on my hair and it would get dry...now i know its cuz my scalp provides alot of moisture for my hair naturally and the moiturizers was stopping this process. now if my hair gets dry, i simply twist it and with half an hair its slick again!

I have to jump on the thick hair bandwagon, my hair was first relaxed when I was only 8 so after yeras of relaxing every 6-8 weeks my hair thinned out, after discovering LHCF and stretching I now realise that my hair is really thick.
