I have that type of hair that is just SO light, thin, but feels thick at the roots, has a swang, but not that heavy swang it should. It looks good in a photo but in person it's like strands of cotton if you will. Light and weightless. NO density. I use protein conditioners to try to thicken the strands I guess but it is not helping. My hair continues to grow and get longer, but I can't just wear it down on it's own. I have to add a track or 2 of weave just to give it some weight so it will swing like it should when pressed. Now I have 3c/4a maybe type hair, but sometimes I wish I had my roomates courser textured hair because even though she gets a perm, when she presses it out it has that heavy swang to it and it looks so pretty. A wiff of air would blow mine out of place immediately. How do I fix this? I know my hair can go back to that because it used to have a little more weight to it when I was younger and permed but now, It's a NO go...... Please help.
also a blunt cut helps with the movement/swang too.
Hey, I'm with it!
I use Jamilia henna, because of the slow dye release.. I do not want any color at this time. I mix my henna with water and fenugreek. I don't add any oils or conditioners because I don't want to prevent the henna from doing it's job properly. I sometimes add amla (which makes the hair appear even fuller) or egg which binds the henna to the hair.
I have also gone back to regular dusting - thick ends are the way to go.
