Oils don't moisturize my hair at all. I use things like Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk, Carol’s Daughter Some of Marguerite’s Magic, Kiehl's Crème with Silk Groom, Kiehl's Leave-In Conditioner and the like to moisturize my hair. My hair even gets moisturized from using moisturizing conditioners.
I agree. Oils are good for sealing in moisture, but not supplying moisture. That said, I like olive oil to seal in moisture and I add it to my conditioners. Too much makes my hair hard though. I've never tried castor, but I plan on it. I hear it's good for softening natural hair.
Castor oil makes my scalp itch and its too heavy, and olive oil makes my hair hard. The only oil I use is jojoba. For moisture, I use profectiv breakfree and Biolage leave in.

i use Kiehl's Crème with Silk Groom, CD hair milk, humectress, and olive oil as leave ins. I haven't been liking my hair lately, its been kind of hard. do u think its the olive oil?
thanks
Maybe it could be the olive oil (since it makes other members hair hard). Why don't you try using the olive oil for hot oil treatments instead of a leave-in? See how that goes.
I like Kemi Oyl and use on a daily basis. I use olive oil as a pre-treatment and sometimes I mix it with my conditioners. I want to try jojoba, castor and avocado oil but have not got around to it. As for your question, you probably will have to experiment to see what works best for you
. The oils we have listed in this thread are what I see ladies using on this board.
I agree with the others: oils don't moisturize my hair but they do seal in moisture. That said, I like castor oil better during the winters, esp. on days when the temperature never rises above 12º Farenheit.
