Im PO-ed beyond belief. I have had it since december and the heat is working off an on (light included). I have the 514. I will Never spend so much on a hair appliance in my life again. ever. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Aw...Sorry about that. I could only imagine how you feel. Where did you purchase it ? Doesn't it have warranty?

This is exactly why i didn't jump in on that Pibbs Deal yall had going. I am NOT spending a car note on a man-made appliance with no warranty.

If there is a warranty you have to pay and arm and a leg to ship it out to them, wait who knows how long and risk it being lost in the shipping OR risk the defect NOT being covered under the Manufacturer's warranty.

I suggest you call salons and ask who they use for their salon dryers and they can recommend someone to fix yours right at your house. Call a handyman. Might be cheaper than sending out your dryer for 6 weeks.

Oh man, that sucks! :( Those things cost WAY too much to be messin up so soon!

I like MizzBrown's suggestion of calling a handyman. Good idea!

Im glad the money I used was from a refund check from college. Calling a handyman is a good idea. I didnt even bother with the warranty because it covered the thing for like .5 seconds anyway.

Damn! I'm glad I didn't get in on this "deal". I'll stick with my 40 dollar Conair hard bonnet and my 20 dollar vintage soft bonnet dryer I got off Ebay, both of which work just fine, thank you very much....

Let us know how it turns out.

There was no warranty on those things?! That dryer is too expensive to NOT have a warranty. That scares me.

This is on a totally different level, but The Caruso setters used to have warranties and then all of the sudden, they don't. I also noticed that they are not made as well as they used to be either. My recently purchased Caruso setters have been a bunch of crap and stop steaming as well after only a short time. Thank goodness Sally's lets you bring things back within 90 days. But, the fact that there is no warranty just makes me think they KNOW there is too much of a chance that it will break down and they don't want to take the chance. Meanwhile, the consumer gets screwed.

The warranty on Pibbs are limited like with many things I understand your frustration!

Sidenote: The warranty issue has nothing to do with the massive buy in.

Shtow,
I'd still place a call to the point of purchase and see if they would accomadate you?

Shtow, I'm really sorry that you are having trouble with your dryer. I think you should at least give Pibbs a call though. 4 months isnt a long enough time for any appliance to be breaking down. They should be able to do something about it.

I would just call the Company............
...................well yeah of course im going to call the company:look:. I will also call a mechanic if the company doesn't do anything. I wrote this thread literally while I was under the dryer. I will keep you ladies posted. It may be a while because there are a lot of things I am in the middle of taking care of right now.:perplexed

Before you call anyone, make sure it's really broken. I say that because I had an issue with my Pibbs blowing out cool air on Saturday for my roller set. It was fine for my DC. It's under warranty (and they are local if I have an issue).

When I got annoyed enough to get up and check it out, the orange light was off? I turned off the Pibbs, unplugged it and waited a bit (like I do with my computer). When I plugged it back in and turned it on (heat setting not timer) the orange light came on and the air blowing out was hot again.

I played with it again on Sunday to be sure it was not broken, and it worked fine.

Thanks Reg's wife. The same happened here. I let it run the next day and it seemed ok. Im just concerned about this happening often or the dryer dying.
