Will Sallys GVP flat iron work in France?

I'm looking to buy a power converter for my flat iron, but just read that the Chi will not work with a power converter. The GVP is supposed to be the generic Chi so..... I don't want to blow the GVP out and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i have a chi and im in europe right now and it works with an outlet converter. you dont need the big converter that you use for blow dryers just the small one and it works fine.
