Well, I've change my weekly regime a bit to try out some new things...Wonder 8 Oil & Bantu Knots. I'm hoping that I get favorable results (praying)

.

I did my normal pretreat (VO5), poo (CON), "quick" conditioner (Motions Moisture +) & leave in (Motions Nourish). I substituted my ever so loved Hot 6 Oil for Wonder 8 Oil & I also changed my air drying style from "flat twists" to "bantu knots" for the first time.

Currently, I'm about 2 hrs into my drying time. I have 1 knot on each frontal side, & 3 knots (horizontally) in the back. I opted not to sit under the hooded dryer nor wait until my hair was partially dry before making the knots as recommended... Big mistake, huh? Oh well, as long as it's dry before church on Sunday, then I'm happy

. I must add although this is my first attempt, it was really easy to make the knots... much easier than my first attempt at cornrolling for my braidout.

Now on to this Wonder 8 Oil... it was $1.00 less than Hot 6 six oil, but I'm hoping that it's comparable in quality. The scent is really nice... smells really fruity but light, unlike the "blunt / strong" fruity scent that Hot 6 has. Also it's not as "oily" as Hot 6, but has the same light texture.

Ingredients: Gin Grow Oil Complex {Safflower Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sesame Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Castor Oil, Ginseng extract (Ren-Shen), Lavender Oil, Avacado Oil} Gin Grow Herbal Complex {Rosemary Extract (Mi-Tieh-Hsang), Sage Extract (Shu-Wei-Tsao), Angelica Archangelica Extract (Bai-Zhi), Licorice Extract (Gan-Cao), Job's Tears Extract (I-Yi-Jen), Junipeus Virginiana Extract (Cedar), Hyacinth Extract, Clove Extract, Balm Mint Extract, Chamomile Extract}, Polysobate 20, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Palmitate Vitamin A), Water, Propylene Glycol, Capsicum Annum Oleoresin, Fragrance, Methylaraben, Ehylparben, Proylparaben, Butylparaben, Phenoxyethanol.

Ok, so I'll post my results after my hair dries

BANTU KNOTS
Both Zanna & Allandra know their stuff
smile.gif
. Thanks to these ladies, my bantu knots turned out sooooo beautifully
smile.gif
. (please forgive me for tootin' my lil horn..... but TOOOOOT....TOOOOOOT
laugh.gif
... my hair was looking sweeeeeeet today. So pretty...full of luster, volume, moisture, ummm, from the words of Ice Cube "Today Was A Good Day!!!" ok, it's all out now
smile.gif
).

I had a slight... no big problem with my knots... I didn't apply enough tension while coiling, so when the knots began to dry, they started loosening up alot... to the point where they were "flopping" on my head
laugh.gif
. Then my sistas came to the rescue
wink.gif
.... I used a hair pin as recommended to secure the coiled hair. At first I thought that the style was ruined, but it wasn't

. Maybe this is why I am soooo happy today

.

It took 23 hrs to fully dry. It's full of twisty type spiral waves, down to the ends. Speaking of ends... my ends look wonderful...very silky looking with a spiral wave on them

. Unfortunately my digital cam is out on borrow... otherwise I would have placed some pics in my album... I'll post them next time.

WONDER 8 OIL
Most definitely a keeper. This oil is wonderful. It's very comparable in quality to Hot 6. Wonder 8 is much lighter than Hot 6, however, Hot 6 has a longer laster sheen. I recvd the same results with both....silky & lustruous hair! I love them both

.

Ok, gotta go

Thanks again Allandra & Zanna
