I got bored this past Saturday and decided to straighten my hair. This is my first time doing it myself (had a stylist do it in December to trim) since my BC last July.

Here's my hair normally (wash and go):

Sorry the angle is a little wonky. I was having a hard time centering the camera. I'm trying to make BSL by my 1 yr BC anniversary in July...It would be a tight squeeze, but I'm hoping the summer growth boost will help me get close.

I think I can definitely have it by September. :yep:

More pics in the fotki! Thx for looking!

Soleil, your hair is so thick and BEEEEEEEAUTIFUL! Congratulations! My advice is not to set a goal. Just get busy enjoying your hair and let length surprise you. ;)

Thx for the advice, Nonie :bighug:

I mostly wear shrunken or natural styles so I honestly never know how long it is (or isn't). My hair is a great length now for my wash n goes so I'm pretty satisfied. :yep:

How did you get your hair, blown out so nice like that.
I neve can seem to get mine look right...

Oh my Goodness! I don't even want to think of how long the process took! Your hair looks very healthy and T-H-I-C-K!!! How long did you transition for? :)

you are one of my hair inspirations on the board,
not only are you pretty but your hair is to die for..
i love the relsults looks soo pretty!

Your hair is beautiful!!! You have made some awesome progress! As far as length, just go with the flow. I try not to straighten for at least 3-4 months and I love the surprise I get every time I do, plus it helps me stop obsessing over how much my hair is or isn't growing.

I used the comb attachment on my Conair Yellowbird. I always detangle my hair first and remove shed hair with my Denman before blowdrying so the attachment doesn't snag on my hair.

I did it in 6 sections this time. For a round brush blowout usually the wetter your hair, the better the results. I like to blowdry stretched barely damp hair b/c that's less time I have to use heat for, and it just completes the stretching process.

It took about 2.5 hrs. Once I started flat ironing it went pretty quickly. :lachen: I transitioned for 17 and 1/2 months.

I'm already washing it out tho - I miss my fro!

Awww thank you. :blush3:

I probably won't use direct heat again till after the weather here calms down...My Friend is getting married at the end of Sept - but all her relatives have straight hair so I think I want to rock my fro!
