Yeah. The thing is her texture is in the 4s yet she experiences barely any shrinkage. That is what makes her texture so unique.
 
definitely wouldn't consider her a type 4 but gorgeous hair. That thickness is nuttttttttssss
 
I didn't think those pincurls were gonna come out so pretty. I mean they are gorgeous!!!

I would totally make a mess out of those on my hair though, lol. I cringe at the thought.

good :) but nothing compared to hers! i did mine a little different and used larger sections on my relaxed hair for great body and nice curls...i really need to get a camera lol
 
Her hair type if very unique and oh so gorgeous! Hmmm...Now what type would we consider her?

ETA: I just watched her hair journey video and she mentions that she would relax her edges to make it easier to style her hair. So would this change her overall texture a bit?

If you look at her hair unwashed, it looks like type 4. Just with barely any shrinkage.

I see no "looser curls and coils" that describe type 3 and below.

But of course since her hair is mad long with mad thickness and pretty, people automatically demote her.
 
i would consider her a type 3c. her hair reminds me of the pretty girl here who always has the good house music in her videos and is a pj. ummmm on youtube her name is like richeau or something.

her hair has an "afro" texture which is why it looks like a type 4 but the actual curl looks looser. alot of people take the texture into account and tend to not really look at the size of the curls when typing. it happens to me sometimes:look:

this is why she has less shrinkage than your typical type 4, length and thickness aside....

doesnt make her hair any less drool worthy:lick:

wow that last pic confirmed what i always thought. i didnt see those pictures.
 
i think as soon as people see spongy, unsilky, afroey hair, they automatically think type 4, but u can be a type 4 with silkyish hair and a type 2 or 3 with "afroey" texture. Her hair is verrrrrrrryyyyy loose, so I dunno how it can fall in the tighest curl pattern group. Anyhoo, I really want to try that tutorial, but i'm a little scared of how it will dry :look:. I think my hair would tangle.
 
Her no product hair looks just like mine and I'm a 3c/4a. She does get shrinkage. You can look through her album and there are pictures of her twist that have shrunk next to stretched hair.

I really don't see how she's not a 4 because that's not a 3 to me.

It does look very similar to Flowerhair's texture, going by those pics.

I also have wayyyy more shrinkage than her so you can't really go by that either.

I can't say I think she's a 4 but her hair is mad beautiful so I will continue to drool.:lick:
 
I was going to try this last wash and ended up getting frustrated with my hair and chopping away the relaxed ends of a section of my hair...I hate rollersetting and things of the like.
 
I love Chime! Her hair is gorgeous!!!! I always considered her a 3c/4a...

That is so interesting! I think their curls are similar but maybe texture is different. I dunno. Both are to die for curlies!
