I have been reading Sophisticate's Black Hair magazines and Hype Hair Magazines for over 10 years. I have gotten and continue to get alot of helpful information from them both.

What have you gotten from that book that is different than what can be found on the boards?

They're two different things. Book quality varies widely but a good book is one where the author is a qualified expert and researches and substantiates what s/he writes about. You can learn all kinds of things from casual conversations (board chat) but it's not the final word and there's always more to the story - you fill in the blanks and verify things if desired through further reading.
