While doing my hair today (now), I realized that I have a few habits that work for me. However, others might find it funny or silly. For example:

I loathe using my fingers to dig out product from containers. So I buy wooden tongue depressors (aka wooden spatulas) to use to stir and dish/dig out product.

Or

I hate washing out plastic caps so I buy a huge bag of cheapies to use per wash day.

What about you? Any good suggestions or tips to share?

I can't think of any right now but can you explain your 2nd habit? I read it like 4 times, but I am still lost. Help me out :)

Can't wait to read all the other habits.

The plastic caps used during DCs. Most people simply wash them out and reuse with each deep condish. I just buy a big bag from Sally's and use one per wash day then toss it.

I also use a comb to scoop out product! I can't stand product under my nails. I tried re-using caps but I rather use one time then toss.

Wow I hate product under my nails too. Am I the only one that doesn't rub hair products in the palm of their hand like lotion? That bothers me to see ppl do that and it seems like all youtubers do it lol. The only product I spread with my palms is oils/butters everything else its my finger tips.

I don't like digging into tubs of hair stuff etc so I just use my fingers to smooth over it to get some product on my fingers. Also I hate waste, if I make a DC mixture I'll use every bit of it and I don't refrigerate my DC mixtures, I like them freshly made on the day LOL.

I always go in the same order when I blow dry & flat iron. Starting with the back section, then front right followed by front left side. I tried to switch up the order once & I just didn't feel right. lol :)

I also use the conditioning caps once & toss them.

My room mate does that...rinses her caps and uses them again. I'm all like...ewww. and they're so doggon cheap, why do it?

I drink a lot of bottled water. I keep the caps...and put oil in them. When sealing my ends/oiling my scalp, I get an old plastic whip cream lid set 4 caps on it and fill 2 with castor oil (for my scalp) and the other 2 with hempseed oil (for my ends). It takes 4 to cover my entire head. And I dip the tip of my finger in the caps to get the oil.

I didn't know people reuse plastic caps after a DC. I buy mine in bulk and pitch them after every DC. The only time I've reused a cap is when I use it as a shower cap.

I guess I am not really environmentally conscious.

To decide which styler I am going to use on my hair, I type them into a Word document and assign them numbers. Then I go to random.org and generate a number. I choose the styler based on the number that is generated.

--OR--

I write down the stylers on pieces of paper, and I put the papers into a bag. I shake the bag and pick a paper. I use the styler that is listed on the paper.

Thats really different!

I don't like to pour oils into my hands, so I bought a box of amber colored pump bottles. All of my oils are labeled and easy to use with just one or two pumps.

I don't reuse the DC caps either. After one use they feel like they have been stretched out and I like them to be snug.

Love it. I feel like I know you

I will reuse a plastic cap until the elastic stretches out of shape. :look:

I always feel some kind of way when I can't get the rest of the product out of the bottle. I feel like Terry Crews on "Everybody Hates Chris" - that's $0.88 worth conditioner I just missed. :nono:

I probably have a few but once you asked the question I couldn't think of any.

I use to re-use my caps but as the one of the previous posters said they would stretch. Why? We try to keep our use of plastic down to keep it out of ocean. My mom saw a documentary once and it made her sad so we just trying not to add to the problem.

Anywayz, I replaced those caps with the $.99 cent ones from Walgreen which hold up pretty well. I rinse them after use and then throw them in with the laundry.

I swap products from one container to the next a lot if I don't like the container it came in. Of course I don't label them. So after a month I'm trying to guess whats in the bottle. If it looks funny I throw it away.

And I keep a small styrofoam plate with my hair stuff. And I will pour oils and creams on that and apply it to my hair. I don't like stuff on my hands. ugh!

I have to shampoo my hair in the right sink bowl and can't do it over the left one which has the garbage disposal. I dunno. Just can't.

I reorganize my stash every morning before I go to work.

Oh I know I have a list but I want to stay in denial as much as possible about my crazy habits.
