In hair purgatory
Where do you go to donate used hair products? i have a bag full of stuff that are half used that i don't want to throw away.

To us poor college students... :look:
We would gladly appreciate it.

Or a womens shelter.

Protective Stylin' on y'all.

I give all my products to family and friends. Matter of fact, I need to go pack up all of my HE products and get rid of it.

I did just that. Gave a box to my sisters friend that is college and some more to a local womens shelter.

I needed to purge.:look::lachen::lachen::lachen:

I have been donating to Sojourner's for Abused Women & Children for the past 5 - 6 years. I only give un-used products. I have 4 full boxes that we'll be taking on Monday. I always purchase 3 or 4 relaxers to put in the boxes.

I donate to family - mom and sister to be exact.

I usually give to friends. But the shelter is a great idea. Thanks!

This is a great post OP. I usually give away to my lil sister in college, aunt & cousin because most of the products have been tried & fail to deliver/work on my strands. I would like to donate them, but I don't feel comfortable donating products that have been opened, even if I only used them 1-2x.

This is such a great idea. I just tried to call the 800 number to donate a ton of hair care products I will probably never use. I have just been holding on to them for ever.

I am a little frustrated though because for all three abuse shelters they gave me in the Los Angeles area, they only accept donations M-F from 8-4:30PM. I told the girl that the only way to make a donation then would be to take off work and I, like so many others, are unable to do that. And since the people in the shelters really in need, they should consider opening on a Saturday or at least stay open a little later to make it possible for us to donate.

I felt so good thinking I could help someone in a shelter with these much needed black hair care products - but I guess I'll just keep my stuff and give them to someone else. :(
