I want to stretch my relaxer through the summer this year (this will be longest one ever). Im finally turning my hair around for the better slowly but surely. Its staying moisturized for now , but when my 4b new growth starts to come in its gonna be a different situation lol. It gets dry & brittle very quick, especially during the summer. I wanted to try a mix of my rosewater & get some glycerin to put in it to use on my new growth. I see a lot of people like this to keep their hair moisturized. However, I read that in hot weather when the dew point is low and there isnt enough moisture in the air, glycerin will start to snatch water out of the hair leading to splits and damage . Also wont sealing glycerin on hair also lead to damage, since the glycerin would be layered underneath the oil (it wont be able to pull water from the air)? So I guess I need to know what are some alternatives to glycerin to keep 4b newgrowth soft? What are you ladies using to help you stretch or transition or keep your type 4 hair soft in hot weather? or are you having success with glycerin in hot weather with no problem?

Edit: ok you know what? I got super confused with the humidity thing lol. It depends on where you live. Its actually very humid here in the summer
