What's Your Goat Detangling Shampoo?

I need a replacement for the bottle of Elucence that's running out. I don't like it very much and need a replacement.

For what it's worth my hair is high porosity.

So what's your detangling shampoo GOAT? High-end, low-end, drug store miracles - I'm open to anything really.

Edit: I've tried Mane Choice and it was a fail.

My GOAT replacement shampoo from commercial shampoo was Dodu Osum Black Shampoo.

After about a year, I went back to Ayurvedic cleanser... my personal fav Swastic Shikakai Shampoo Bar and my DIY Rhassoul cleanser. My high porosity hair clumped better, laid smoother (less ssk), and had less flyaways.

I love and use both Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrosource Shampoo and Nexxus Therappe

Not a shampoo but still a miracle: acv and water.

I eyeball a 50/50 mix (use less acv if your scalp is sensitive) in a spray bottle, spray on my hair till damp but not dripping, finger detangle in sections spraying more if I need to. Tangles melt away, shed hair detaches easily... Miracle I tell you!

Smells awful though so be warned.
I'm type 4C.

Design Essentials Almond and Avocado shampoo

Co-signing on the Design Essentials Almond and Avocado Shampoo...literally the only thing that has worked for me while being natural.

Thanks for this. I looked into the shampoo and took the reviews with a large grain of salt. I've grown cynical over the years when it comes to natural hair care products.

I love Rhassoul Clay. I've used clay a few times in the past but it's been years. How long do you leave the clay on your hair? Can you get away with washing with it once or is twice required?

I have never heard of a single brand in this post. But that will change before the night is over! Thanks.

The method of application when it comes to shampoo bars has left me thinking it would cause tangling. Maybe I can liquify the and pour it on my hair.

edit: I know of Ouidad but have not tried their products.

Try Bobeam Cheris or Honey Oatmeal. I simple wet the hair and rub the bar down. Instant lather. Or lather it up in my hands and massage scalp. It’s foamy enough to detangle with as you run your hands down the strands. I’m a 4a/b.

The Ouidad you only need a tad bit. Super foamy and moisturizing.

Blended Beauty Soy is my favorite. Just a tad bit expensive.

Bobeam is inexpensive. Can’t beat it.

If you can, get samples of the other or wait for a sale.

Well I’m a reformed product junkie and messed up trying another shampoo and suffering through a whole bottle of an inferior shampoo in order not to waste the money. I won’t be straying from my DE Almond and Avocado ever again.

My current holy grail shampoo is from Shea Moisture. It leaves my hair/scalp clean, perfectly moisturized, and I see a big difference when detangling and with curl definition. It’s the Baobab Tea Tree Low Porosity Protein-Free shampoo

I know that feeling. That is the worst. It's why I try to purchase any new products locally so I can walk that bottle right back over. If I order online I'll suffer through. My last bottle of Qhemet's Detangling ghee was rough.

I'm over there looking and I read protein free and low porosity and thought what in the world. I guess I got excited. Boabob protein and Babassu oil get me right.

The product ingredients look good though.

I love Rhassoul Clay. I've used clay a few times in the past but it's been years. How long do you leave the clay on your hair? Can you get away with washing with it once or is twice required?

I apply the clay, massage it in my roots, smooth down my ends and rinse... maybe 1
minute.

I will say for a Shampoo mine is Naked by Essations Honey Shampoo
But for cleansers: 1) clay 2) black soap.
I have jazzed up my cleansers by infusing herbs/teas into the water to form Ayurvedic liquid— so that I have a fancy clay wash or fancy liquid soap. 4A hair type, fine, dense, normal porosity and very tangle prone.

Thanks for this thread. My huge bottle of Elucence moisture balancing shampoo just ran out, and I found out that the entire Elucence line has been discontinued

Sally's website has been out of stock of Roux's Weightless Precious Oils Luminous Shampoo for months and I'm worried Roux has discontinued another detangling shampoo I love . I've been without for the last two months and my hair has visibly suffered.

I'll try Design Essentials and Ouidad.

Sally's website has been out of stock of Roux's Weightless Precious Oils Luminous Shampoo for months and I'm worried Roux has discontinued another detangling shampoo I love . I've been without for the last two months and my hair has visibly suffered.

I have a set of the shampoo and conditioner that I'd love to sell at $20 cost (OBO)+ shipping. I can't use it bc I'm allergic to peppermint oil (I was unfocused the day I bought it and didn't notice it's in both products). The beauty supply that I bought it from doesn't accept returns after two weeks. I bought them three weeks ago. Sigh.

They had several bottles at $10 each if you'd like me to buy/ship some for you. I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (zip code 76012) in case you wanted to calculate shipping costs for more bottles. The store is only 20 mins from me, so I wouldn't mind going for you. I know what it's like to lose a favorite product.

That's a very kind offer but Roux/Revlon has let me down before by getting rid of the Porosity Control shampoo. I'm ready to move on from them.

I've tried the Ouidad shampoo and was able to finger derange with it, so it's promising. Just need to see how it does long-term.
