Thank you! I am TRULY enjoying my hair. I finally embraced my hair and released all expectations or hope for something different, as it relates to breakage and horrible ends.

In fact, I thought it was giving up. I just let my hair be. And somehow things turned around.

In response to being loved unconditionally, my hair has flourished.

Seems like a life lesson, too.

Lubricated, moisturized and THICK from roots to ends! Those look sooooo good. A full barrier against dryness. I love it!

Uniform, and pretty. Hair weight is a good signal. Lets you know of gains and that your hair is wraped up in product nutirients! Your twists look great!
 
I have used tweezerman for years they are inexpensive and stand the test of time pretty well.
I have a few pair of dark stag shears that I got on sale. They work wonderfully.
I have a lot of Hasami shears(they were on sale). They also work wonderfully.


Mention: I keep a pair of ridicuolously expensive Japanese damascus steel shears on my wish list but I haven't bought any since mid-range shears work pretty well.

I have a pair from Walmart that I use regularly for removing knots when I style my hair out for mini terms. If they're not Goody, they're something equivalent price-wise.

I also have a pair of Equinox International that I was gifted for my bday. I'm not sure if their overall quality, but these are SHARP! I tend to use them when I want to properly trim my hair.
 
I blow-dried my hair last night with intentions of flat ironing it today. The L'Oréal Steampod 3.0 was basically free since it was marked down to 50 bucks and I had over that much in Ulta points. The dilemma is that I really love the way my hair looks and feels after the blow dry, and I don't want to press it now lol. So we will see if I actually press it this weekend or just add a few waves and wear it stretched with the blowout. My ends are holding up pretty well after my June cut.

I love this thread, and wow!: According to the poll, we here are enjoying our hair. :love3:

So, now that I have a proper shape, I enjoy my hair every single day. It's very cute and fun to style.

It's even fun to care for, at this length (ear-length when curly, a little beyond armpit-length at its longest layers when stretched).

Two additional reasons that I enjoy my hair are that:

(1) I'm something like 12 years in on my natural hair journey, and I thus know how to handle my hair now and

(2) I've discovered products that do me and my hair very well.

One thing I can admit that is just true for me is that while I feel my curly hair is cute, I felt my flat-ironed, mid-back-length hair was beautiful. I feel cute in my short-looking natural hair, and I felt beautiful in my mid-back-length straightened hair.

How much of that is solely about LENGTH, I can't say. Perhaps 60% of it is mindset about texture, perhaps 20%, I don't know. I do know that I'm having a BLAST giving myself 10 years to see how long I can get my curly hair.

And in 3 months or so, when I get my dream color job, if it comes out beautiful, they not gon' be able to tell me NUTHIN'!!! :giggle:

I'm soooooo glad I went natural. In the words of my late college mate, "Thank God I'm natural!" Rest in peace, Chris-Tia.

I ove you ability to see the beauty in you rhair across states! yes to cute and beautiful hair! Length really sneaks up on you when hair is curly.
What color job are you going for?
 
I am very pleased with the steampod ... especially since it was free lol.
It isn't perfect. It takes a lot of pressure to clamp the plates fully and has a bit of a gap when hitting the roots, but it is a good flat iron and I am glad I snagged it while it was clearance out. I find many tools with metal plates more drying than ceramic tools, but that was not the case when I flat ironed my hair today. I know the steam makes a positive difference. I never tried the Maxiglide when it was popular on the board, but this reminds me of what people loved about the Maxiglide.

A big part of enjoying my hair is enjoying new products and tools. The steampod is pretty good. If the 4.0 or higher comes to the US, I will be inclined to purchase it.

The steam pod was one of my worst hair purchases ever. I think it works better on silky textured strands.

The steampod 3.0 still costs between £160 - 250 over here, I'm glad you got it as a bargain. I have a feeling that it wouldn't be too dissimilar from the babyliss straight and shine, which takes water and steams the hair as it passes through the hair. I only ever used those straighteners when wearing a weave. I should try it out on my hair sometime. I love all your product reviews and updates ❤️

Sorry to hear that. I have type 4 very thick hair and it worked wonderfully for me. My texture definitely is not silky. That said, everything isn't for everyone so I'll be keeping mine with hopes that you got your money back.

Just giving my viewpoint. I have fine type 4 hair but the texture of my strands is very spongy. At the highest temp it gave me blowout type results. I got suckered in with all of the rave reviews but my hair literally reverted as I flat ironed. It sucked. I tried it 3 times and no dice. Unfortunately I could not get a refund.

Wonderful. Yep, you may like it. I am definitiely keeping it in my collection and if the 4.0 comes to the states I will put it on my wishlist!
 
I finally got my real ID today. I like full hair on photo IDs, and I put some light waves in it this morning. The problem was that it was pouring rain when I left the house. So I smooshed my hair under a leather hat and headed to the DMV. "Ain't God good for things great and small, including DMV appointments!" My number was the first called. I whipped out my documentation and snatched my hat off to say cheese to the camera, lol. The security guard came over when I was taking my photo and said ,"You had all that hair hiding under that hat".. Another lady in the DMV office was like "I need that hat" as I was smooshing it back under my beret before I walked back outside in the rain to my car. I told her where to get it on sale at TJ Maxx. My waves weren't as precise as they would have been had I not had to wear a hat but It has a cute toussled look and my license came out cute. Now off to enjoy today. I took all day off work today just in case the DMV was insane...I picked up some breakfast for the family on the way home and now I get to chill instead. Part of enjoying my hair is seeing her get her recognition when she is looking good and falls into place...even on rainy where she is on standby under a hat.

Here is the hat: I love Eugenia Kim hats and they have been clearnanced at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and the Eugenia Kim website several times since last year.
